Copernicus” is a dead scientist. What would you name this newly discovered element _+)?
Q: The newest – and heaviest – element on the periodic table could get tagged with the name “copernicium” in honor of the late astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Thirteen years ago, GSI scientists discovered element 112 or “Cp” after bombarding zinc ions (charged zinc atoms) onto a lead target in the facility’s particle accelerator. There already a einsteinium. But you missed the point. He’s dead, too?
A: Metallica….lol

A: Nicolaus…. hmm, that sounds German? Lots of them are, the scientists. As for the name, it sounds too much like our other element, copper, So I think Lausium would have been better.
Ions in chemical cells. PHYSICS HEEELP!!?
Q: In a chemical cell, the energy released by chemical attack on a metal, zinc as in many chemical reactions, is about 300KJ mole of metal attacked. What is the pottential energy given to each coloumb of charge. [each zinc atom losses 2 electrons to become a Zinc+ 2+ ion.HOW DO I WORK THIS OUT> I MISSED THE CLASS WHEN WE LEARNED IT AND I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO DO IT :SHELP!!!And also how do i work out the mass of zinc reacting per second to produce the current of 0.2 Amps?THANKS 🙂
A: For the first part of the answer the clue is the definition of a “Coulomb”. The second part remember the definition of an Amp related to a Coulomb
