Can I use acidophilus capsules as my yogurt starter (yogurt culture) when making homemade yogurt?

Q:Or do I need to buy commercial yogurt starter (culture)? What is the difference between them?

Yes you can, you could also just use a bit of yoghurt. No! Buy a container of Plain (unflavored) commercial yogurt and use 2 Tbsp. of it as starter in your new batch. Then just save out 2 Tbsp. each time for the next batch! This is what the directions from my new yogurt maker say. Have fun!
