I’m sure it is since you know exactly what ingredients you are putting on your body. But I don’t have enough time to do all that just go to Whole foods or a natural supplement place and buy them.
It can be. I love doing homemade soaps–I’ve just started doing lotions and have dabbled in bath salts, sugar scrubs and body mists. As far as it being healthier–homemade cold process soaps contain natural gylcerine (which is removed from store soaps and sold to you in lotion). My skin feels much nicer in the winter and I use less lotion. No more scaley white flakes! You can also choose which oils will suit your skin best. (ie-most women prefer soaps with creamier lather and a higher linoleic acid content–where men perfer bigger bubbles and higher lauric acid content–which some people find drying. I suggest you start with melt and pour soaps and see if it suits your creativity gene. Do lots of reading before starting cold process. A good starting point is http://www.millersoap.com/
WELL SAVES ON MONEY , MY LATE GRANDMA WAS SCOTCH , SHE MAKE IT
A friend of mine used to make goats milk soap and it was really good. She sold it and made a decent profit. But then she had a large herd of dairy goats and a lot of extra milk. If she hadn’t been able to sell it I don’t think she would have bothered. It’s a lot of stinking work to make old fashioned soap and expesive to use the kits. If you enjoy home crafts it might be worthwhile. Bath salts are another matter, many easy recipes, good quick results, greaat gifts.
Some think its healthier, but if its worth the time.. I’d say thats based on if you enjoy making them. They are just as good, and depending on your recipe, can be BETTER than store bought stuff.
never hurts to change up a little
