I take it and I love it! It keeps me “sane” Be careful not to just stop taking any antidepressant, it can really make you feel down. I haven’t had any side effects, but I take at night because it does help me sleep better..Good luck sweetie! I dont take those. Massages soothe me from depression.
Take the meds. If you feel you must get off them, only do so under a doctor’s direction. If you think you are having bad side effects, talk to your doctor about it. There are a variety of meds to choose from. I’m taking 300 mg of Effexor every day and not suffering any side effects as long as I keep taking it like I’m supposed to. Being bipolar 1 I’ve taken several antidepressant; Prozac, Welbutron, and half a dozen more I can’t remember the names of. Some, Prozac in particular, have caused sexual disfunction, the Welbutron I’m taking now only gives me a dull head ache. I’ve never, and I don’t know anyone else who has, had any experience with Lexapro. My suggestion would be to either talk to your doctor (his nurse will do), or you pharmacist, or there’s a book called a PDR (Physician’s Desk Reference) that you can find at your doctor’s office or your pharmacy or the library and in which you can look up pretty much any medication on the market and read its purpose and its side effects, or read the information sheet that the pharmacy is bound by law to give you every time you fill you prescreption.
I take effexor xr.. 75 mgs, and I hate it It causes really bad side effects and its very hard to get off of. Try therapy while you are taking the meds and then taper off to just therapy and then to taking care of it yourself through journaling and awareness of your mood changes. 10 mg is not much to worry about. I take Effexor xr 150mg twice a day plus 50 at bedtime and no one is aware of it, it doesn’t make me weird. My depression came from 22 surgeries, constant pain for 15 yrs, and not being able to work or do the things I love. Best Wishes
I take Fluoxetine (generic version of Prozac), 60mg once a day. I experience some side effects, but nothing I can’t handle: Dry mouth, small bursts of energy, some drowsiness. It’s working for me, as of this moment in time. I went off my meds for a month, thinking that I didn’t need them. Boy was I wrong!
