Since your question is posted on an “alternative medicine” board I won’t be suggesting prescribed medication.Take a bucket of cold water, as cold as you can stand it and soak your feet in it for 10 minutes. And / or you can put an amethyst stone on your forehead for 15 minutes. The energy from the amethyst stone is good for getting rid of migraines. Good luck.
Whenever I get a migrain I try to go into a deep meditation and breath in the healing light and breath out the negative energy. Along with that I use a mixture of lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus oils on my temples and above my brows. Hope this helps, Good Luck!
I would strongly suggest that you disregard any advice on using a prescription drug to treat migraines. Although, a painkiller, such as vicodin, will have an immediate result, it is not worth the possible long-term effects.Furthermore, although the use of essential oils or homeopathic treatments is an excellent idea, I would advise not to use them without first consulting an expert in those fields.I am a massage therapist, and I receive a large number of clients that suffer from migraine headaches. I have a series of techniques that I use to treat the problem. Usually, they have the best results from seeing me regularly over a course of a few months. Experience has shown that much of the problem arises from neck and shoulder tension. This can also be exacerbated by other stressors, not excluding diet and daily habits.I would strongly urge you to seek out a local massage therapist, preferably one that has an excellent reputation and has experience with treating specialized issues.I really hope that I have helped to shed some light on the subject!

My hubby and 6 yr old son suffer from them, this is what we have learned, first you need to discover the trigger; my son’s was caffeine. There’s no real remedy until you know the trigger..to “deal” with one if you can take some type of medicine at the onset then you can usually head it off, rest in a dark silent area is the best, most times you have to just let it run it’s course.in my hubby’s case we’ve not found a trigger but usually he can sleep and it will go away.Hope this helps, another helpful thing is on the onset of one get to your doctor, they can help you and hopefully find the trigger.
I’ve found this remedy to be really helpful: Fill a plastic tub full of really cold water and another tub full of water as hot as your skin can stand. Alternate soaking your feet in the cold for three minutes, then the hot for three minutes. Do this alternating between the hot and cold for about 18 minutes. Dry your feet and lay down with your feet elevated above your head. It works.
