The Transformers and Fast and Furious actor Tyrese has decided to step back into the music arena and give his audience what they have been begging for. 6 days before the release of his new album, “Open Invitation”, which will be released next Tuesday 11-1-11, Tyrese chose Dallas, TX as one of his promotional hot spots. The event, which was fueled by Grey Goose and X Rated, had extended and “Open Invitation” to 105.7 Smooth R&B’s listeners along with Dallas’ elite tastemakers.
The Private “Invitation Only” event was held at Dallas’ premiere upscale night spot Privae ( pronounced pree-vae) and among the elite in attendance was GlamFetish Magazine writer and Celebrity Stylist Toni Marie , Kimesha Jackson of Tickled Pink Event Planning, Dj Michael Watts, LaSanya Williams of WillHouse Entertainment, Anthony Henry (former NFL player) Spinderella of Salt-N-Pepa and many others! Privae was immaculately decorated with pictures of Tyrese disbursed throughout the room and beautiful models kept the food and drinks flowing all night. Tyrese definitely made his presence felt as he hosted and showed off his skills on the turntables. The album was referred to by Tyrese as a “home cooked musical meal” because he recorded much of it at his home studio. It was evident that the event was well received by those in attendance and Tyrese showed his passion behind this independent release as he played through each song giving the meaning and inspiration behind each and every one of them. It was more than evident by looking at the expressions of those in attendance that his music captivated his audience. With songs like his current single “Stay” and my personal favorite the “Stay” Remix featuring Faith Evans, Tyrese has once again poised himself to make a mark in the music industry after his 8 year hiatus.Having not dropped an album since 2003 there has been some skepticism about if Tyrese still had what it takes to be a star in the music arena but ladies if you are wondering if Tyrese created anything for you, I can assure you that thousands of new babies will be conceived to this album. With songs like “Make Love”, “What Took You So Long” and “Best of Me”, it is safe to say that Tyrese has made yet another wonderful album that his fans across the country will be excited to listen to.
When asked why this album was so personal to him, Tyrese stated that a record executive that he would not name made the statement that “(He) could not sell without a major label behind him and now Tyrese has a point prove.
