Each and every year she combs the headline-making names to choose a select few – and Barbara Walters has announced seven of the ten stars comprising her list for “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011″.
Included in the latest batch of Miss Walters’ intrigue-inciting celebrities are “American reality royalty” sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, along with royal sister Pippa Middleton, real estate guru Donald Trump and “Modern Family” stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.
Also included in Barbara’s roundup of famous faces from 2011 are singer Katy Perry, “The X Factor” judge Simon Cowell and baseball star Derek Jeter.
While “the always provocative” Simon speaks for itself, Katy was named the “pop singing sensation” of the year. As for Jeter, the New York Yankees Captain is newly-single after splitting from Minka Kelly, making him a very eligible Bachelor as one of the biggest stars in sports.
The last three fascinating names in this year’s top ten are still to be revealed, and looking back on Walters’ choices from 2010, nobody has made an encore appearance. At the top of the famous newscaster’s last list from the scandal-filled former year was Tiger Woods, Justin Bieber, the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore, Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Palin (for the second year in a row). Obviously an easy pick, Kate Middleton was also featured as one of Barbara’s “Most Fascinating People” due to her globally televised nuptials with Prince William.
Sandra Bullock and Betty White also made the cut for 2010.
Viewers must wait to see who is chosen as Walters’ “Number One Most Fascinating Person of 2011″ when the 19th running of the TV special airs on December 14th on ABC.
