Britney Spears Talks Alternative Career Paths & the Future of Her Sons in New Interview

As she continues to prove to the world that she’s still got it, Britney Spears recently spilled her guts during an interview with PopJustice.com.

Although the “Til the World Ends” singer is constantly in the spotlight she admits that keeping some off her life private is important.

She told, “I can be pretty guarded with my personal life and I’ve learned that’s okay. I think your personal life is your personal life, and that should stay private.”

During the interview Britney also opens up about an alternative career choice she might have made had she not pursued music from such an early age.

“I’d probably be a teacher,” she confesses. “I love kids, and even in what I do now one of my favorite parts of my day is getting to meet my fans before the show. Especially the little ones. They are always so cute.”

As for what subject she’d like to teach, Miss Spears says she’d “specialize in reading and history”, adding that her favorite time period to study is the 1920’s.

And in regards to the possibility of her boys, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5, pursuing careers in the music industry, Brit revealed, “I’d definitely keep an eye on them, but if that’s what they wanted to do then I’d let them go after it. I’d just be very protective. I wouldn’t want them to go into it feeling fearful, and also nobody can really prepare you for this industry and what you experience, so I’d just have to trust that they have the instincts to know what’s right and wrong and help guide them along the way.”

Coming up this weekend, Britney Spears is scheduled as one of the honorees at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Executive producer Amy Doyle confirmed the news to press, stating, “Britney will be at the show and we’ll be paying tribute to her.”

She continued, “She was having an incredible year and she is so beloved by the MTV audience that we started to think what could we do that would be a different experience.”

Additionally, the peeps over at MTV are considering paying homage to the late great Amy Winehouse, who passed away unexpectedly last month. “We had a great history with Amy. She was very near and dear to us.”
