Capcom’s Latest Title Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Coming Out This Spring

How many Resident Evil fans’ mouths have been watering at the sight of Capcom’s newest installment? I can proudly say, A LOT of them have. Featured in the May 2011 issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City has become one of the most, not only anticipated, but yearned for games of the year.

Everyone wants to know more about multiplayer mode, so it’s time to push single player out of the way for just one moment.

Now boasting multiplayer mode, Capcom and Slant 6 Games incorporated 2 sectors of characters to choose from. The United States Special Operations Task Force is in the battle against the USS (Umbrella Security Service) to achieve the given objective. The line up for the USS ladies and gents, are the one and only: HUNK, Nicholai Ginovaef, Lone Wolf (noted as a new character to the franchise) and Ada Wong. On the heroes’ side we have none other than: Leon S. Kennedy, Carlos Oliveira, Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentine .

What gamers expect to look forward to in multiplayer mode is a variation of Team Deathmatch, Fight and Defend, Survival, and Escorting bio-hazardous samples to a rendezvous point.

In single player mode, you choose one of 6 playable characters from the USS or from the Spec Ops team. The USS’s objectives are to eliminate any survivors of the viral outbreak while members of the Spec Ops must expose Umbrella’s bio-terrorism evils to the public. All the while trying to fight off desperate, hungry hordes of the undead and the horrific team BOW’s (Bio-Organic Weapons).

In terms of character and game development, we see previous as well as new voice actors filling in the roles from the Resident Evil saga. Capcom interestingly incorporated the mechanic to run and shoot simultaneously. Something a lot of us have been accustomed to in other games, and just waiting for Capcom to fill in the gap with their old-school titles. While this is a stray from usual Capcom mechanics, it also supports more streamline gameplay as well as making it a lot more fun. Especially now with multiplayer mode enabled, you can have one more reason to bug your friends.

Now it’s time for you to pre-order your copy now because this title is coming out March 20th, 2012 in North America and March 23rd, 2012 in Europe. PEGI has give this game a 18, while the ESRB has rated it M for Mature.

I’m already on my way to pre-order my copy for the usual $59.99, because just as the game is famous for, it will infect you next.

Enjoy and Happy Gaming from Charlie!
