Crocheted Headband Pattern for Any Holiday

Crochet a headband for any holiday with this simple pattern. Choose a pastel for Easter, green for St. Patrick’s Day, Red for Valentines Day and red, white and blue for the 4th of July. Whatever occasion is in your future, this simple to make headband is fast and easy to make.

Things You’ll Need:

4-ply worsted weight yarn
Size J/10/6mm crochet hook
Scissors

Instructions:

Row 1 – Chain 60 stitches. Slipstitch the chain together making sure it is not twisted.

Row 2 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in each stitch around. Slipstitch the last stitch to the first stitch in the row.

Row 3 – Chain 5 stitches. Skip four stitches. Single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat the pattern for the remainder of the row. Slipstitch the last stitch to the first stitch in the row. 12 chained openings are created.

Row 4 – 8 – Slipstitch twice in the first chain opening. Chain 5 stitches. Single crochet in the center of the next opening – repeat for the remainder of the row. Slipstitch the last stitch to the first stitch in the row.

Row 9 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in each chain stitch around for a total of 60 stitches. Skip the connecting single crochet stitch. Finish off.

This particular pattern is for an adult. Drop 10 stitches to create a headband for a child or follow the same pattern and use a Size H/8/5mm crochet hook. Drop 15 stitches to create the same headband for an infant or use the same pattern and use a Size E/4/3.5mm crochet hook.
