Emily Maynard Chosen as ABC’s Next Woman on “The Bachelorette”

ABC has officially made its choice for the next woman on “The Bachelorette.” Emily Maynard, a single mom from North Carolina, will have her chance at true love when the show returns in the summer of 2012. Do you remember Emily from her time on “The Bachelor’” with Brad Womack?

Many fans are shocked that ABC chose to bring back Emily. Brad Womack chose her to be his wife, but things did not work out for the two. They actually never even lived together and were split up before the season finished airing. Viewers were expecting to see a girl from the current season of the show with Ben Flajnik. Lindzi Cox and Emily O’Brien are both names that many past contestants have said would make a great Bachelorette if they are still looking for love.

Emily Maynard has a story that will pull at fans’ heart strings. She is a single mom of a little girl named Ricky. She was engaged to marry NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick. He died in a plane crash back in 2004 when she was still pregnant. She has been raising her daughter on her own and for this reason said she would not move to do the show. ABC has decided to move “The Bachelorette” to her hometown of Charlotte for filming so she can be close to her daughter. They are pulling out all of the stops to make sure they keep her happy. She did let Ricky meet Brad when she was on his season so it will be interesting to see if her daughter meets a few of the guys.

Bentley Williams was the villain of Ashley Hebert’s season of “The Bachelorette.” He was not shy about the fact that he wanted Emily to be there instead of Ashley. It is being reported that he is still interested in Emily and would love to have a chance on the show. Do you think they should let Bentley try to win Emily’s heart?

“The Bachelorette” with Emily Maynard has not started filming yet, but should air over the summer of 2012 which means filming will start soon. Do you think that Emily was a good choice for the show? Sound off in the comments section below.
