Entertainers, Practice What You Need to Succeed, Not Just Your Craft

Practicing in your chosen craft is important, neglecting the skills you need to make the most out of that is bad business. You are a business and your own product. Market and advertise yourself at every opportunity and great things can happen.

There are three basic needs for success So lets start with marketing and advertising. You have to market and advertise yourself! Don’t wait for someone else to do it for you, and don’t worry that will happen as well if you do your own correctly. Put some thought into this focus on what to say, when to say, and how to say it. People should know about you, you’re the product so be yourself, be better than yourself through practice. Let potential clients and fans know about you, your craft and what you bring to the table for them through your craft. When you have a show tell people, not on Facebook alone, tell everyone, everywhere! Make connections with everyday people and they will help spread the word for you. Hand out flyers for your shows, talk it up be proud of what you’re doing and secure in your skills and knowledge.

Networking is always a part of this, the more people you know, the more people they can tell about you. Always be engaged with people when talking with them be part of the conversation not the focus of it. Tell the people you talk to how much fun they will have at your show. Tell them you would love to see them there. Actually Invite them personally. The more valued they feel the more likely they are to tell other about how great you are. Lets be honest you are great! Make others feel you are great and guess what? Great things will happen. It’s just like making new friends so make a few hundred. Start now!

Practice is the next need of success! You have to practice marketing and networking yourself. Sure its self aggrandizing and it’s certainly uncomfortable for most people, that is why you have to practice it. You must be comfortable talking about yourself without talking only about yourself. It’s a fine line and the more you work on it the better you will be. Practice networking and marketing yourself on everyone all the time. You never get a day off so get to it. Failing to practice networking and marketing is a sure way to ruin a career. Some people pay to have this done for them. Why pay someone to do something you can do for yourself though. You can do it, remember just how great you are! Have faith in yourself and your abilities and great things will happen.

So get out there and start making things happen for you! Stop reading my article and get yourself moving, go on get. I have to go meet some new people, you do the same!
