Located southwest of Easton and on Highway 33, which runs to Tilgman Island, is small town with a big heart and wonderful people. St. Michaels has charming bed and breakfasts, good restaurants, unique shops and welcoming atmosphere. St. Michaels sits on Broad Creek, St. Michaels Bay and the Chesapeake Bay, offering ready access to waterways and fresh seafood.

The bed and breakfast establishments offer Victorian and Colonial style lodging that will provide the weary traveler with a good night’s rest and a hearty a delicious breakfast to start the day. Each bed and breakfast is decorated with authentic antiques, pieced quilts, paintings and decor. Much of the decor reflects the seafaring heritage of St. Michaels.

The easy access to waterways provides for a wide range of water sports. There are charter fishing trips, sailing trips, and personal water craft and boat rentals are readily available. The Chesapeake offers a variety of fishing from the banks and shoals to deep water. There are water tours of the historic shores of the Chesapeake.

For land lovers, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is located right in St. Michaels. Quaint shops selling everything from high-end designer clothing and jewelry to t-shirts and fun crab toys line the streets of St. Michaels. The town provides a wonderful atmosphere for strolling about the streets. Local old graveyards and churches, some of which pre-date the Revolutionary War, such as Christ Church on Talbot Street, add to the interest of the town.

Restaurants range from small local delis to true dining elegance. The most well-known of the St Michaels eateries may be the Crab Claw, with a menu range from tables full of fresh local steamed Blue Channel Crab to chef inspired steak and seafood entrees. The Crab Claw has hosted many celebrities and dignitaries whose photos decorate the walls.

St. Michaels offers an engaging place to vacation with its wide variety of activities and possible adventures. It is off the beaten path, yet easily accessible. St Michaels will give the entire family a place for fun and relaxation.
