Restaurant Review: The Big Easy in Plano, TX

Big Easy
1915 North Central Expressway
Plano, TX 75075

I recently went to Plano, TX to shop and decided I wanted to have lunch. Since I am from Louisiana I enjoy having Cajun style food. I noticed Big easy and my family and I decided to give Big easy a try. We went into the location and was greeted by Amanda. Amanda has a great personality, and was very friendly.

My family and I made our orders at Big Easy; oyster poboy, fried shrimp and Fried fish. You can actually see the cooks preparing your food if you want to watch them. The restaurant was a little busy at the moment, so we sat in the back area. We were anticipating a long wait, but it only took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. When we went to get our food it looked amazing. You could tell it was fresh.

We all tried our food and loved it. The oyster poboy was one of the best I have ever had. The only negative I had was that there was not cajun mayo on the sandwich, other than that it was absolutely wonderful. My mom had the fried fish which came with coleslaw and french fries. My sister had the fried shrimp and she had french fries and red beans. I tried both of there meals and I honestly do not have a complaint about anything. I enjoyed every bite of food that I tried at Big Easy.

Once were were finished eating we decided we wanted to try the New Orleans style pralines. We ordered about six regular pralines and also a couple of chocolate ones to try. I have had pralines in the past and I have to say that these are close to the top of my list of favorites. If you go to Big Easy in Plano, you have to try the pralines. I also found out that Amanda makes these, and I told her that they were absolutely wonderful.

Atmosphere:

Big Easy in Plano has a relaxed Louisiana atmosphere. You make your own drinks and pick up your own food from the counter. It is a smaller restaurant, but makes up for the size of the restaurant with the amazing food. The employees are very nice and have an inviting way about them.

Prices:

The prices at Big Easy Plano are very reasonable. With my sister, moms, and myself we spent a little more than $30. This is including the pralines that we ordered. I have been to a lot of seafood restaurants where you can easily spend $15 on each person, so the prices at Big Easy Plano are very reasonable.

My Opinion:

I enjoyed eating a t Big Easy Plano, and will absolutely be returning. The food is great, welcoming staff, and reasonable prices. With all of these attributes, and if you enjoy Louisiana food, you should give it a try.
