TOS Review – VocabAhead

Have you often thought of those “High School” years and what the “High School” years will bring?

I mean in the way of academics and all those academic requirements that must be met.

In many cases your high schooler will have to submit to those grueling rounds of tests that high schoolers all over the United States are submitted to.

It can be hard to even know where to begin in order to prepare your teenage student for these tests. I have a high schooler this year and it is very daunting knowing that all these requirements, etc. must be met.

I was extremely excited when I was given the opportunity to review VocabAhead’s Book SAT Vocabulary: Cartoons, Videos & MP3s.

The SAT test can be very grueling for any student but with a great resource such as SAT Vocabulary: Cartoons, Videos & MP3s the Sat can be a breeze when it comes to vocabulary.

VocabAhead’s book is more than just a book. With the purchase of this book you also get access to free downloads. These downloads contain access to all of the SAT level words in the book in the form of videos and MP3’s.

So you have access to all the SAT Level words right at your fingertips in three different forms. This covers a wide variety of learning styles and can help the student improve their vocabulary while enjoying the learning taking place.

I like the fact that the downloads include MP3s because this means the learning can take place while riding in the car to and from activities.

I also like the fact that there are three different choices with this book because many homeschooling families have more than one child learning at the same time.

This makes it possible for more than one child to have access to the materials at the same time within the family. This is a great feature!!!

The book is packed full of vocabulary words that are found on an SAT. Are all the words on the SAT? No but this is a collection of SAT vocabulary words that help students be prepared.

Even if your student doesn’t plan on taking an SAT the vocabulary building that can be taken from this book is well worth the time, effort and money.

Now there is a more detailed summary and many many sentences in which the word is used that are included on the page.

The description also gives several synonyms and antonyms that go with that particular word.

So the information is very thorough, clear, and concise for the student.

I also like the fact that this book is not in alphabetical order. This is another great feature of this book because it can be rather boring to study all the words of a particular letter before moving on to another set of words.

Another great feature of this book is that students are given 10 new words to work with and then are quizzed on those words before moving on. So the student must take those ten words and work with them. After working with them for however long the student is then given a review in which they must match the word to the definition and then use the word in a sentence that is already given to them.

Overall this book is a great product. It is also a great value for your money at only $12.95.

Another great feature of this book is that for $12.95, ten percent of that price is donated to non-profit organizations providing educational services in under-developed countries.

So not only are you helping your student but you are helping other students succeed in places that they may not have had the opportunity to succeed. It is a win-win situation.
