Treating Abdominal Pain with Aroma Therapy

Abdominal pain is when there is pain felt in the abdomen region of the body. The abdomen is the anatomical area located under the lower margin of the ribs and the diaphragm above the pelvic bone or the pubic ramus and the flanks located on either side. The term abdominal pain is used to describe pain fell anywhere in this region of the body.

Abdominal pain is usually caused by pain originating the organs in the abdominal cavity. These organs are the colon, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, small intestines, spleen and the stomach.

Often pain felt in the abdominal area can be caused by other organs that are not located in the abdominal cavity but located close to this area such as the kidneys, lower lungs, ovaries and the uterus.

Abdominal pain is usually caused by inflammation such as appendicitis, colitis, diverticulitis, gallstones, swelling of the liver due to hepatitis and blockage of the small intestines. Abdominal pain can also be caused by loss of blood supply to an organ. However, abdominal pain can occur with the cause of inflammation or the loss of blood supply.

Abdominal pain can occur with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) although it is not completely clear what cause abdominal pain with IBS but it may be from abnormal contractions of the intestinal muscles or abnormally sensitive nerves within the intestines that give way to painful sensations known as visceral hyper-sensitivity. If Abdominal is too severe you should see a medical doctor.

Note: These are formulas that I have created and worked with over the years. Be sure to wear gloves when working with essential oils in their pure state and they should always be diluted with a carrier oil. Test a small path of skin with a tiny bit of the formula to make sure that you do not experience an allergic reaction before you use it on a large area of skin. No liability can be taken by me!
