What If All of Brad Pitt’s Past Relationships Were Uninteresting?

Brad Pitt spent much of the past week apologizing about remarks he made against ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. The actor, who has been promoting his new movie, “Moneyball,” told Parade Magazine that being with Aniston made him uninteresting.

“It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage (to actress Jennifer Aniston) had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”

Pitt has since been on a mission retracting this message, stating that his comments have been taking out of context. How much of this is true is anyone’s guess? However, it’s possible that very interesting movies like “Fight Club,” “Ocean’s Eleven” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” would not have been made had his life been actually eventful with Aniston.

Past Relationships:

This makes me wonder what his movie resume would have been like had all his relationships been uninteresting.

Robin Givens (1989):

Pitt dated actress and former wife of Mike Tyson, Robin Givens, in 1989. Had this relationship been as dull as the one proclaimed with Aniston, Pitt could have starred in movies such as “Batman,” “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and “Field of Dreams,” all three of which are interesting and/or eventful.

Juliette Lewis (1989-1993):

After Pitt and Givens parted ways, the former sexiest man alive found himself with eccentric actress Juliette Lewis. The two were a couple between 1989 and 1993. Fans of Lewis, who starred in the movie, “Natural Born Killers,” know that the actress is anything but boring, fronting a pretty good band called Juliette and the Licks and now Juliette and the Romantiques. Had Pitt been uninterested in this relationship, he could have starred in movies like “Point Break,” “Goodfellas” and “Tombstone.”

Gwyneth Paltrow (1995):

Pitt and Hollywood sweetheart Gwyneth Paltrow were engaged to be married but never actually walked down the aisle. As much as I love Paltrow the reality is she is best known for her good girl, squeaky clean image. For a man like Pitt who apparently feeds on all things interesting, hence the adopt-a-thon arrangement he has going with current catch Angelina Jolie, this relationship had nowhere to go but down “boring alley.” Had there been some spice in this courtship, Pitt could have starred in movies such as “Braveheart,” “Casino” and “Apollo 13.” The actor did, however, balance his movie resume with “Se7en” and “Twelve Monkeys.” Maybe there is more to Paltrow than meets the eye?

Looking on the Bright Side.:

My mother always taught me to look on the bright side of things. That is what fans of Brad Pitt should do – seek out the positive. His relationship with Jennifer Aniston is something the two shared privately and as much media as it has received, fans only know what reporters tell them. If any part of what Brad Pitt said was true, searching for a movie about an interesting life, it is possible that the movies he made or didn’t make could have contributed to his personal life.
