Wonderful Places to Walk Your Dog in Beautiful San Francisco

San Francisco is a beautiful place to live. There are many places to walk your dog, from the luscious North Beach greens to the mystifying Golden Gate Park. As a dog walker myself residing in this city, I will recommend a few places which will make dog walking a delight for both you and your dog.

Bernal heights contains a magnificent view of downtown and the bay. It is one of my favorite spots to walk my dog. The only thing bad about it is that it lacks grass. The grass there is rather thin but if you don’t mind that it’s all good. You will see lots of dog walkers such as yourself and everyone is always very friendly. Note: You can take your dog off the leash and let them roam while you enjoy the sun and the scenery. You can get here by going up Folsom and stop at Ripley Street.

Buena Vista Park is another great place to walk your dog. The tall redwoods surround you as you walk through nature trails which will guarantee a good work out. The park is between lower and upper Haight and near the tip of the Pan Handle. You should bring your own bags to clean up after your dog. It is always sunny in this area but bring a jacket just in case it gets chilly, which rarely happens. Nearby are some nice restaurants which I often go to relax.

Next stop in our dog walking trip is Golden Gate Park. This vast expanse of forest and greens is the perfect journey for any dog walker. You can literally get lost in here but thankfully there are some helpful signs along the way. I recommend you start from the Lincoln Way. From there, you should walk through Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between 5th and 7th Avenues. There is a trail near 7th Avenue for off leash dogs which should be perfect for your dog. If you are in town for a few days, I recommend you go to the Conservatory of Flowers after walking your dog. It is one of the most beautiful places in San Francisco and a sight to see.

The last stop in our trip is in Mission Dolores Park. This festive place is full of people all the time. It is usually always sunny in this area and has a very nice expanse of green. It is also off leash which is great for you and your dog. It is a perfect place for picnics if you are feeling festive and want to invite friends over.
