It usually depends on the tattoo parlor. Most have a minimum price they will charge to cover supplies. I have a small one on my collar bone and it was $60, which I believe was the minimum price.

How do I know if the bump on my tragus piercing is a keloid and how do i get rid of it?
Q: I got my piercing in early April and I first noticed the bump a few months ago and its gotten larger since. I clean it about 5 times a day with H2Ocean, nothing else and its not getting any better. I’ve talked to about 6 different piercers, some say its a keloid, some say scarring, some say its not draining properly. All recommend different things. I’ve tried them all and my tragus continues to get worse. Any ideas? I’m almost to the point where I’m going to take it out because something similar happened to my other tragus and it got so bad I had to go to the doctor (he said it looked like I had a keloid and then that got infected). I have tried tea tree oil, but there was a slight warming/burning sensation so i was told to stop using it. I have uploaded pictures of the bump compared to pictures of it in July on photobucket. Simply search for user Krystallee7 to see my ugly tragus 🙁

Q: im getting so fed up with my tragus piercing, i’ve had it for ALMOST TWO YEARS. and i still have a little red bump, i don’t know what to do anymore. i clean it everyday but i touch it..but can touching it really cause it to be infected this fricking long? i need someone to give me specific details on how to get rid of this, i heard teatry oil gets rid of the bump in three days.
A: Tea tree oil is really effective for some people in removing hypertrophic scarring, which sounds like your problem. It doesn’t work for everyone but it should clear it up within a week or two. Get some quality pure tea tree oil (not just oil scented like tea tree oil, you can get the good stuff at a health food store.) then put a tiny bit on with clean fingers once or twice a day for a week.Another problem could be jewelery size/placement, if it is too small or big or just in a spot not right for your ear, it could be permanently irritated. Is there something that it is constantly exposed to that could irritate it? (For example: hair spray or headphones) Constantly touching it is no good! You should touch it as little as possible, that might be why it has been giving you problems for so long.Your best bet is to go to a reputable piercer and have them take a look, especially if the tea tree oil doesn’t work for you. Good luck.
