Unhealthy, yet effective way to lose weight.?
Q: Okay, so I know that this is for questions, but many people ask questions and say that they don’t care if it is unhealthy, but they need a way to lose weight. Well, this is not to promote unhealthy weightloss, but rather to explain what I found to be both easy and effective. I lost 20 lbs in less than two weeks. Here is how I did it.Every morning I waited about an hour after I woke up and ate a bowl of semi-healthy cereal. (usually frosted mini wheats) I only ate one serving, according to the box, each morning. I believe it was 3/4 cup.(I usually wake up around 7:30 a.m. and eat around 8:30)With the milk left from my cereal, I took 3 generic brand FiberLax (Laxatives). Though laxatives do not stop your body from absorbing fat, calories, or carbs as many people believe, they do allow the food to pass more quickly and not leave you with a full tummy (or colon).*It is important to cleanse your body. There are colon cleansers which are more healthy than laxatives, but laxatives are more effective for weight loss. Studies have shown that humans who do not cleanse carry an average of 5-9 lbs of unwanted waste in their colons. The next part was what really made this work for me. Every time I felt hungry (I know this sounds crazy and silly, but it worked) I brushed my teeth, or if I had more frequent cravings I brushed my tongue or used mouthwash so as not to damage my teeth by overbrushing. This made it so that the food would taste gross, as it always does after brushing your teeth. After the initial craving goes away, it usually doesn’t come back for a while. It also helped me not drink unhealthy drinks. I usually drink a lot of diet pepsi, which really is less healthy than regular pepsi. However, with the toothpaste taste in my mouth, water sounded mighty delicious!I continued this and did not eat again until around 6:00 p.m. At that time, I had a bowl of soup or a piece of veggie lasagna (my boyfriend is a chef =] ). After dinner, I had a small snack on occasion. I usually had another bowl of cereal.. I’m a cereal addict!! I usually drank about one diet pepsi per day and water the rest of the day. If my stomach became upset or felt hunger pains (which of course it did because my body is used to having 3-4 pretty big meals, which was cut down to 2 small meals), I drank a tablespoon of extra light olive oil or ate a tablespoon of sugar. This was enough to make my stomach settle. Also, I made sure to only do that once each day. If the hunger pains don’t subside then I suggest eating something small and healthy, but really only if you are in pain! Don’t use it as an excuse to cheat! This was really all I had to do. I am not a very active person, so no extensive exercise was involved.. just the usual walking from one room to another and of course at work. I only recommend this for people who are looking to lose weight fast, but can maintain the weight after. Taking laxatives and eating very little is very unhealthy if it is long term. Only start this diet if you know you can stop. It should not continue more than two weeks, and I am by no means saying that it is healthy or the proper way to lose weight. I guess I have to add in that if you are hungry every five minutes, you should not brush your teeth every time. Overbrushing your teeth can make you lose enamel, whose sole purpose is to protect your teeth. This can be a simple way to lose weight before a reunion or other big event. It can also be a good way to lose unwanted pounds fast so that you can use your own willpower to keep it off, like I am doing. I hope this was helpful to at least someone. Good luck!By the way, my name is not Jeff. I am a female. To “Wantoutofmarriage”: I did not go back to my overindulging and terrible eating habits. However, I did not continue the diet or the only eating two tiny meals per day. I now follow the normal healthy means of maintaining/losing weight. I eat 5-6 small healthier meals per day, and still drink all water and skim/2% milk except one or two diet pepsis or glasses of juice per day. I only used this diet to lose the weight. Once it is gone, it will be easy for me to keep it off. I just had trouble losing it.To “…” You are correct that your way is the most healthy way; however, this is for people who want to lose the lbs fast and then use your way to keep it off. I am sorry that it is disgusting to you. My sincere apologies.

How do I help a friend lose significant weight?
Q: I have a friend who is 261 pounds and maybe only 5′ 4″ or so. We are both in high school, so I dread to think of how he may be in the future, already being as morbidly obese as he is now. To show how overweight he is, I am four inches taller than him, but 142 pounds. Even though I am pretty thin, the fact that he is almost double my weight is pretty shocking. What’s even more, I have another friend who is 6’6″ and weighs about 230. Over a foot taller and thiry pounds lighter, although he is a bit out of shape himself. He’s told me that he wants to lose weight, and I’d really like to help him, but I’m not even sure where to start at this kind of weight. I lost twenty pounds myself, but that’s very minor weight compared to this, and obviously, I can’t lose weight for him. This was a few years back when I was maybe 13 or so, and going from 150 (a bit pudgy) to 130 (very fit) is very different from going from 260 to at least a healthy weight. He told me he wants to join the football team next year, and I had to be blunt with him – after watching him struggle to do a few sit-ups in p.e. (he was recorded doing three in one minute, but he did improve – only to eleven in one minute), I told him he would have to work with me to even get in shape for summer conditioning next season. Even for a skinny guy like me, it was rough – we ran a total of five miles three days a week, jogging one for a warm up, then doing several sprints with very small breaks in between around the football field, totalling out to another four miles – and as I said, sprinted. He said he’s willing to work with me and do what I ask of him, and he seemed like he would honestly go along with whatever help I try to give him, but as I said, I just don’t know where to start. Implementing sit-ups and undoubtedly changing eating habits are what I’d tackle first, but he takes FOREVER just to do ten. He said that he would do sit-ups with me, but he flat-out refused to run until he is in better shape, and I guess I can understand that. The guy ran a mile in twenty-five minutes (literally) for p.e., and I know it would be degrading for a guy of his size. His nickname is Pudge, and although he said that he honestly does not mind the name and did convince me that he actually likes having any nickname at all for the most part, I still think the fact that more people know him as this rather than his real name is a shame. He is a really nice person and is one of the best friends anyone could possibly have, and so, I really want to help him. He is so good to people that almost no one even makes fun of his weight aside from to give him his nickname, but I still think it’s a shame that such a good friend struggles with his weight so badly and is unlikely to find a girlfriend any time soon, although I know he would be very good to one. He makes cracks about his own weight, and I really respect the way he handles it, but I know that he wants to get in shape and is hoping I can help him. So what do I do to get him at least fit by the middle of June or so?P.S. I can’t set a weight-loss goal for both of us as I am actually trying to GAIN weight (albeit healthy weight and muscle) for football next year. Thanks.
A: Wow good on you, you must be such a good friend :)Ok to start with, let me tell you something important, and that is that people who weigh that much do not just allow themselves to get that unhealthy without attempting to do something about it. Your friend has an eating disorder, overweight people are not usually thought of as developing eating disorders, however eating disorders are characterised by a lack of control over eating and I think your friend fits that category. this means that he may need some form of professional help be it a doctor, councellor, psychologist, dietitian. To start with, get your friend to keep a “Food Diary” thats the best way to assess what he’s eating, if you have lost weight before then you should have some idea of what is healthy, I find that many overweight people seriously are not aware that what they are eating is unhealthy.if his diet really is terrible, don’t shock him into changing everything at one time, but try and replace one food with another every single week. Some changes you could try include:- replacing soda and juice with water- switching to fat free milk- swtiching to whole grain bread- learning new healthy methods of cooking food- adding more veggies to dinner- snacking on fruits.exercise is often one of the largest hurdles to those who are seriously overweight, the reason being that exercise is not a habit and is not part of their daily life, and any new lifestyle habit is hard to incorporate for anyone.Patience is the key, and warn you friend that he will not see results after one day, which is what many people expect. You need to use gentle exercise to start with, and something I would really recommend is for your friend and you to visit the pool, (if he’s self concious he can wear a t-shirt) and start by walking in the shallow end, starting at the edge of the pool and going until the water is at his shoulders then returning and repeating. Doing this for a small amount of time, say 15 mins but every day will work wonders. Something else to try is walking, around the block, around the yard – it doesn’t matter as long as he is moving it will be working.Lastly I would recommend weekly weigh ins.invest in good scales and a tape measure and each week record:Weight:waist measurement, hip measurement, arm measurement, thigh measurement, belly button measurementneck measurementDo not weigh your friend more than once a week, otherwise you will not see enough results and he will get disheartened. however once a week is good and if he is following this advice he will get results and it’s very motivating to see the numbers go down.Email me if you want more help – I mean it. I know how to do things on the cheap, I’m a uni student lol
Does this diet plan sound good?
Q: Take a look at the diet plan below and tell me what you think.Rapid Weight Loss PlanGeneral InformationThis diet is also a fast and is fat- burning. The key is that you will burn many more calories than you will take in. It will flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well- being. This diet does no lend itself to drinking any alcoholic beverages at any time b/c of the removal of fat build- up in your system. Go off the diet for at least twenty-hours before consuming any alcohol.Because each person’s digestive system is different, this diet will not have the same effect on everyone. After three days, if you don’t cheat, you will have more energy that before you began. After you have been on the diet for several days, you may find that your bowel movements have changed and you may need to eat a cup of bran or fiber. Although you can have black coffee with this plan, after the third day you may find that you don’t need the caffeine. The Basic Fat Burning Soup can and should be eaten anytime you feel hungry… eat as much as you want. Remember, the more of the soup you eat, the more you will lose.Definite no-no’s on the plan are:• Breads• Alcohol• Carbonated drinks (including diet)• All fried foodsThis diet will not interfere with any prescribed medication. You can eat broiled chicken for the beef if you wish, but absolutely no skin on the chicken. If you wish you can substitute broiled fish for beef on one of the beef days. You need the high protein from beef on the other day. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel better both mentally and physically. The Basic Fat Burning Soup6 large onions1 to 2 cans of tomatoes1 large head of cabbage2 green peppersI bunch of celery1 package of Lipton soup mixSeason with salt, pepper, curry, parsley if desired, or bullion, or hot sauce.Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces and cover with water. Boil fast for ten minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want as this soup will not add calories. The more you eat, the more you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. If eaten alone for an indefinite period of time, you would suffer malnutrition.Day 1All fruits except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only fruits with soup. For drinks, use unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or waterDay 2All vegetables eat al the fresh, raw or canned vegetables until you are stuffed. Try to eat green, leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas, corn. Eat them along with the soup. At dinner only on this day, reward yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Do not eat any fruits.Day 3Eat the soup, fruits and veggies you want. Do not have a baked potato. If you have eaten as specified for three days, and have not cheated, you will find you have lost between five to seven pounds.Day 4Bananas and skimmed milk. Eat as many as three bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can, along with the soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates as is the milk, but on this particular day your body will need potassium, carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lessen you craving for sweets.Day 5Beef and vegetables. You may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef plus a can of tomatoes or as many as six fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink six to eight glasses of water to flush the uric acid from your body. Eat the soup at least once on this day.Day 6Beef and vegetables. Eat the beef and veggies to your hearts content on this day. You can even have two or three steaks if you like, with green, leafy veggies but no baked potato. Be sure to eat the soup at least one time.Day 7Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and veggies. Once again, eat all you want. Be sure to have the soup at least one time.At the end of the seventh day, you should have lost ten to seventeen pounds if you have not cheated. If you have lost more than fifteen pounds, stay off the diet for two days before resuming the diet from one day. This seven- day eating plan can be used as often as you like. If correctly followed, it will cleanse your system of impurities and make you feel better than ever. After only seven days, you will have an abundance of energy and will feel much lighter. Continue with the plan as long as you wish as feel the difference!
