My daughter was born June 16 too! I’ve only lost 10lbs [I gained about 35], but it’s my fault because I’m still eating like I’m pregnant! I know I need to cut back on my portions and eat a little healthier. I walk a few times a week, but I …

I am only 19 weeks and have gained about 13.5kgs (30lbs)…help?
Q: Can anyone help me! I have gained ridiculous amounts of weight during this pregnancy for a few reasons:- One, I quit smoking as soon as I found out which resulted in about 5 kgs in the first few weeks; and- Secondly, we are renovating and I have been living without a kitchen for the last couple of weeks and have had to eat every meal out or takeaway.- Also, between the renovations and full time work I have found it very difficult to exercise.I know it is no excuse at all and I want to take control of things now. What can I do from now to minimise the rest of the weight gain during this pregnancy? Also, is it safe to attempt to lose some of this excess weight during pregnancy? I don’t want to starve my child but I also think being this large is not good for the baby. It is also depressing me terribly and I cry about it sometimes when I am alone and that can’t be good for the baby.I just had my 19 week u/s and everything is really healthy. The baby is normal size as is the placenta and amniotic fluid. I’m just fat and it’s all around my butt and thighs.

were you excited to start working out after your pregnancy.?
Q: I am 6 1/2 months pregnant with my 2nd. when i got pregnant with my 1st i remember that i told myself that i was going to be healthy and be more active WRONG!!! i started at 136lbs gained around 45lbs during pregnancy and lost 15 lbs a week after birth. 2 months after i was down to 156lbs and when i found out i was pregnant again i was at 140lbs. With this pregnancy i didnt gain weight till my 5th month. at my 6th month check up i had gained a total of 9lbs. i bought me some prenatal pilates and workout videos which i do once in a while plus walking and taking care of my 17 month old. i am now 26 weeks and i feel huge and fat although i am not really stressing it. I cant wait to have this baby and just get to exercising again and taking good care of myself. i have been pretty good about what i eat with this pregnancy. I just think its funny how i get really excited about getting back in shape after the baby is born during pregnancy but when i have the baby i loose that motivation and I could care less. I guess you just get so involved with the new baby, current children and life (work, husband, house) that you loose focus on yourself. i hope that motivation is still with me when this baby is born. Have any of you ladies felt this way? I also cant wait to get new clothes, get a nice hair style (i think i deserve it, i have havent colored my hair in 6 years just the occasional haircut here and there) i know there are ladies out there that felt this way and i just wanted to hear from you. my husband has been running and just taking better care of himself. I very much just want to join him. I am so proud of of well he is doing. He’s lost around 20lbs in 6 weeks. Also, do any of you ladies feel like you look better now after after having children?
A: Wow, we sound almost identical in that sense! I have a almost 16 month baby boy, and with my first pregnancy I went from 111 pounds to 162 pounds and swore I’d work out and be thin and sexy again after I had my son. I seriously lost maaaaybe 10 pounds? I am 19 weeks pregnant right now, and I’ve actually lost weight and have only put on maybe 4 pounds so far this pregnancy. This time I’m working out and trying to eat better with this pregnancy. I definitely don’t want to gain a whopping 51 pounds again! Haha!!! I definitely will work out better once the baby is born. DEFINITELY.Don’t worry though. You are not overweight nor fat. You are pregnant. =)

A: yes, I know what you are talking about! I have a 10 months old now, I did not loose motivation but I felt it was quite impossible to take care of my baby and work out at the same time. I felt exhausted most of the time, post partum hemorroidal pain did not help. I gained pounds AFTER I gave birth ( lot of middle of the night snacks while breastfeeding+no workouts+working outside siiting in a office=fat). well I am still struggling to find a Me time, but my son is so wonderful I tell myself I will eventually resume exercise when he is older. I don’t think I look better : birth mark, weight gain, hair loss…, But it’s not as important as it used to be to me
