Is there are such thing as a low quality dog food that is high protein?
Q: So far, all the high protein foods that I have seen are high quality- TOTW, Evo, Wellness CORE, etc..Are there any low quality foods that are high protein? Not that I need one; just curious. :)Wow, really? I didn’t know that..my dog does absolutely wonderful on Taste Of The Wild, and it had a 38% protein level, I think..But then again all dogs are different! :)Axel, you are feeding crap.
A: Probably not because the reality is that protein sources are expensive compared to other ingredients.A much bigger issue is that many dogs can’t tolerate the high protein superpremium foods and need high quality foods that are lower in protein. A lot of people are putting their dogs on these diets and ending up with dogs with diarrhea, gas, and other digestive problems even with a proper transition period and proper portions. The reason is that many dogs that are not working dogs that burn a lot of daily calories can’t tolerate those protein levels. My dogs (which get a minimum 2.5 mile walk each day) have trouble with these foods. I finally settled on California Natural – made by Natura like EVO so good ingredients but with lower protein levels and the problem went away. I am not the only one. I know several people whose dogs could not tolerate these foods and I see people post here frequently running into this problem.
If your dog is pregnant,do you feed it high protein food,or high Quality food?
Q: I got a pregnant dog and she needs food to eat. What should i feed her. Please don’t be a smart attic please. thanks.
A: High protein & high quality food. Most people will either give puppy food or cat food because both are high in protein. I give puppy food to my dog when she was pregnant & four times a day. Be sure not to give too much amount for each meal because sometimes the mother dog will vomit out if too much is loaded. It happened twice to my dog when we overfed at one shot. The puppies inside tummy will push most organs upwards so there’ll be less space for the stomach to hold too much food.
