About Your Book: Elsbett & Robin Take On A-Nasty-Sia

I spent some time researching jokes for a certain section in the book (it’s a very small section, but I still wanted just the right joke) and came up with some pretty great ones along the way! You’ll have to check out ‘Elsbett & Robin Take on A-Nasty-Sia’ to see which I settled on!

Did researching and writing this book teach you anything or influence your thinking in any way?

Danai Sabrina Kadzere
I definitely became more of a kid again!

As far as research goes, I read a lot of middle grade novels, hung out with my amazing little sister, pretended I had magical powers (I’m only semi-kidding about that one) and frolicked in the woods.

Oh, and I went to Germany and ate a lot of ice cream.

Why do you write?

Danai Sabrina Kadzere
I love writing. Period.

I also love reading, and one of my biggest desires is to put more great material out there for readers to enjoy! I’m always so frustrated when there’s a dearth of good reading material.

What is your greatest strength as a writer?

Danai Sabrina Kadzere
My imagination just won’t turn off. I’m constantly creating different worlds in my head (if you see me covered in bruises, it’s because I’m always walking into things when my mind is in a different world and my body is in this one!)

I also love reading and, from all of my experiences as a reader, understand what readers want out of a book.

What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life?

Danai Sabrina Kadzere
If ‘Elsbett & Robin Take On A-Nasty-Sia’ takes off, then that. :)

Otherwise, I’m proud of myself from graduating Cum Laude from Phillips Exeter Academy, becoming a Ron Brown Scholar, placing twice in the USA Biology Olympiad, and being accepted to all but one college that I applied to (including Ivy League Universities). I’m also proud of myself for doing my part to contribute to cancer research, even though I’m relatively young.

Is there any new or established author whom you feel deserves more attention, and what is it that strikes you about his or her work?

Danai Sabrina Kadzere
I just love everything by Meg Cabot. I know she already gets a lot of attention, but she deserves it. Also, Jen Calonita.
