‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 13 Premiere Event Raw Notes and Judges’ Quotes

Here are my raw notes and commentary on this season’s first Dancing With the Stars episode along with some of the judges’ quotes I found most interesting or inspiring. I’ve been taking notes for every Dancing With the Stars show so far this whole season but had not done anything with them yet. They are not doing anyone any good just sitting on my computer. Please forgive the lack of punctuation, correct grammar, etc. These truly are raw notes but I hope you enjoy them in the spirit they were written, which is for fun and enjoyment of the only show I faithfully stay up to watch on the same night it airs, Dancing With the Stars.

Ron Artest & Peta: Cha Cha
Len “Footwork was atrocious.”
Carrie Ann “The fun factor was high up there.”
Judges’ Scores: 5-4-5 *lowest score of the night.

Rob Kardashian & Cheryl: Viennese Waltz
Len “I’m not impressed but I’m not depressed.”
Judges’ Scores: 6-5-5.

Kristin Cavallari & Mark: Cha Cha
Bruno “That hotness, you’ve got it.”
Judges’ Scores: 7-6-6.

Chynna Phillips & Tony: Viennese Waltz
Actually gliding! And on her first performance with Dancing With the Stars! I’m impressed.
Len: “It wasn’t the best first dance I’ve ever seen, but I’ll tell you what, it was close!”
Carrie Anne: “That was gorgeous.”
Judges’ Scores: 8-7-7 **Tied for highest score of the night.

Nancy Grace & Tristan: Cha Cha
Judges’ Scores: 5-5-6.

David Arquette & Kym: Viennese waltz
Best of the guys so far. Better than I expected.
Len “I was very, very impressed.”
6-6-6 (18 out of 30).

Elisabetta & Val: Cha Cha
Amazing ending & sexiest dance so far.
Movements contrived yet still beautiful.
Beginning was odd.
Judges’ Scores: 5-5-5 (I would have scored them higher).

Hope Solo & Maks: Viennese waltz
Olympic medalist in women’s soccer.
Beautiful performance.
Carrie Ann “You guys were connected like glue and it was wonderful.”
Len “Just need a little but more fluidity and {softness and feminine in your movements}.”
Judges’ Scores: 7-7-7.

Carson Kressley & Anna: Cha Cha
Host Tom Bergeron: “That, my friends, was one energetic cha cha.”
Carrie Ann: “That was my favorite dance of the night.”
Len: “There [were] elements of Jagger, swagger and stagger.”
Judges’ Scores: 6-5-6.

J.R. Martinez & Karina: Viennese Waltz
I had tears in my eyes… and one even running down my face. J.R. is inspiring and a fabulous dancer. Although I hadn’t heard of him before tonight, Dancing With the Stars clearly made a great cast selection here.
Len, “To me, J.R. stands for just right.” “Well done.”
Judges’ Scores: 8-7-7.

Ricki Lake & Derek: Viennese Waltz
Beautiful. Really glad to see her on Dancing With the Stars.
Judges’ Scores: 7-6-7.

Chaz Bono & Lacey: Cha Cha
Chaz is the first trans gender contestant on Dancing With the Stars.
Judges’ Scores: 6-5-6 (17 out of 30)

As always, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode of Dancing With the Stars. I look forward to seeing the stars grow in and express themselves through dancing during this exciting season.
