Dogwalking in a Central Park

So, I was recently asked by a close friend of mine:

“Markus, I am so tired of walking my dog! Is there any way to make it more fun?”

Well, to be honest I was a bit shocked at first! The thing is – we live in New York, pretty close to Central Park, so I couldn’t really understand how she found it boring to walk her dog!

The worst part? – She had never been to Central Park.

The thing is, Central Park is a great way for both the owner and your dog to have fun! Central Park is one of the biggest parks in the world, and that obviously means there are loads of fun things to do there. Pets are always welcome to Central Park, even though the must be leashed from 9AM to 9PM every day when they are in the Woodland areas of the park.

Anyways, you might be thinking:

“Why would I chose to go to Central Park?”

Well, let me tell you why.

All around the park there is dog drink fountains placed around. As you want to make dog walking a positive thing, you wont have to bring water for your dog. That’s a plus, right? As well as having dog fountains placed around the park, there is also so called «dog-friendly areas». This means you have great opportunities to get your dog socialized!

Are you a social person? That makes Central Park even better for your to visit! You will be able to meet all kind of fun people, and you will probably make some new friends! Maybe you’ll find someone to dog walk with on a daily basis?

Here are some great tips to make dog walking more fun!

Bring a Frisbee or some sort of toy for your dog to play with! This will make the walk more fun for you, and for your dog! As well as that, your dog will get tired which means you’ll have a more pleasant evening at home!

As you’re outside with your dog, try to do some exercises! Can your dog roll around? If not, try to train it! Training your dog outside is an excellent way to make the whole “dog walking-thing” a lot more fun!

Do you got a friend that has a dog? Arrange dog walks together! This will boost your mood during dog walks, as you can talk with someone instead of the dog!
