DWTS: Premier of Season 13 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’

One of the latest premieres this week was that of Dancing with the Stars. This is number 13 and has a wide variety of stars, from the well-known to the not so well known. There are of course a few athletes, a couple reality stars, a singer, a few actors, two talk show hosts, a controversial celebrity and we can’t forget about the “who in the world is that”.

Here are the cast members. We first have the athletes, Ron Artest and Hope Solo who are paired with a newbie Peta Murgatroyd and a seasoned veteran Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Hopefully Peta can handle Ron or should I say Metta World Peace and his entire ego. This is probably a nice break for Maks, getting to work with someone who is athletic and can handle all that he throws at her. Next would be our whole host of reality TV stars. We have Rob Kardashian paired with Cheryl Burke, Carson Kressley paired with Anna Trebunskaya and finally Kristin Cavallari paired with Mark Ballas. Despite the fact the Rob comes from a family that is full of big personalities Cheryl may have a break since he seems to be a truly nice guy. Now Carson is a nice guy but definitely is not lacking in the personality category hopefully Anna can make her 8th time a charm. And if you are not familiar with her debut shows, Laguna Beach or The Hills then you are probably not familiar with Kristin. Unlike his partner most know Mark, maybe he will help her take the spotlight.

Then we have our singers and actors, Chynna Phillips paired with Tony Dovolani, David Arquette paired with Kym Johnson and J.R. Martinez paired with Karina Smirnoff. Although we’ve only heard about Chynna’s drama over the years, we only have good things to say about the veteran Tony. Bringing the fun to the show is David Arquette and to pull him in will be Season 12 winner Kym Johnson. And who can forget the great smile of All My Children’s star J.R. Martinez paired with long time dancer Karina.

Next we have or talk show hosts, two of them! The scary Nancy Grace who is paired with the other newbie Tristan McManus, we have to wait and see if he can handle her. Our second host is Ricki Lake who has a little bit of dance background, since she was in Hairspray. She is paired with Derek Hough, who may have just lucked out.

And lastly we have our controversial celebrity and our “who’s that?” First is the transgender son of Cher, Chaz Bono, who has been getting a whole lot of press lately as to regards for this show. He is paired with the every fun loving and easy going Lacey Schwimmer. I don’t think dancing with someone who used to be the same sex; will hinder her from taking Chaz far. And lastly we have Elisabetta Canalis. I honestly had never heard of her before the show. Had to look her up, apparently she is the former girlfriend of George Clooney. And that is about it. She is paired with someone I have heard of and that is Maks’ brother Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Two unknowns may be able to take it to the top, we shall see.

This season will definitely be full of surprises, train wrecks and maybe even some hidden talent. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
