Echo’s Curse

So long the days should pass, since love and scorn.
Hallow heart severed; be still silent pain.
The solemn vow, sung to endure souls song
While I, lament for my shell, though in vain.

To trade my whispered, unbodied voice. ‘Tis gone.
Forever I despise this tearful pyre.
Cold stares at loss which remains here upon.
Tears rain despair for empty life’s desire.

The ice in your soul has hid me from eyes.
Pull me out of shadow’s long, evil clutch.
Cup over poured, drowned with sweet lies.
To see your face no longer reach my touch.

For my prison simply Echo now,
your gaze to endure, and reflect curs’ed brow.
