Gay Action Star Luke Evans Wasn’t Supposed to Admit He’s Homosexual

Gay action star Luke Evans, who outed himself as a proud gay man back in 2002, now has to change his story. The media says the new action star is about to become a huge celebrity so now his PR team is trying to shove him back in the closet. In 2010, Evans had roles in 2 movies, Clash of the Titans and Robin Hood. And this year is about to star in the movies The Immortals, The Three Musketeers, and The Raven. But a 2002 interview Luke Evans gave to the gay magazine The Advocate is driving his publicist crazy. In the interview he talks about his “love for gay porn” and “being out of the closet”. At the time Luke Evans gave the interview about being openly gay, he was starring in a musical called Taboo, a story about a famous gay male singer and his boyfriend. Even though Evans played a straight male in the musical he told the media that wasn’t how it was in real life.

The then openly gay action star told the interviewer, “Well, it was something I’d spoken to a lot of people about, including my boyfriend at the time – we’ve broken up now – but at the time when I just got Taboo, I knew that even though my part was a straight character everybody knew me as a gay man, and in my life in London I never tried to hide — . I knew I was going to have to do interviews with gay magazines; I knew this was going to happen. So I thought, Well, I’m going to have to be open. It’s who I am. It’s not a big issue, and it’s never going to be a big issue for me; whether I’m successful or if I weren’t successful, at least I’ll never have that skeleton in the closet they can rattle out. Y’now what I mean?”

Luke Evan’s Wikipedia page has even been edited to make sure anything gay said about the new action star was erased. When asked about Luke Evan’s once open gay lifestyle, the Advocate says his publicist is now saying, “Her client gave the revealing interview in 2002, but reiterated what she told others who have contacted her for statements – that she does not comment on the personal lives of her clients. She also said that Evans wants his work to speak for itself and that he will no longer address his personal life with the media..”

Even though Luke Evan’s publicist tried to get rid of every and anything “gay” said on the actor’s Wikipedia page, she didn’t get her hands on this interview he gave to GaydarNation back in 2004. Where Evan’s talks about playing in a musical called Hardcore as a guy just “trying to make it big in gay porn”.
