The Hallmark Channel is known for its 25 days of Christmas theme that begins near the first of December and officially begins the holiday television season, but this year they have started early and added to the enjoyment of those who love the holiday movies. Beginning this weekend, Hallmark Channel is hosting their Holiday Open House in which they will be showing holiday movies each weekend up until the beginning of the 25 days of Christmas begins.
Hallmark Channel will be airing both movies that they have shown in the past as well as new movie premieres during this time. These movies will all instill in us the holiday spirit that we should feel at Christma time. Each one will remind us of just what the Christmas spirit is. This weekend, they are airing two new movies, “Love’s Journey” and “Mistletoe Over Manhattan”, each with superb cast and a good story behind them.
In “Love’s Christmas Journey”, a man sets out to locate the brother of his widowed aunt. This mini-series is both romantic and dramatic with a cast featuring Natalie Hall and Greg Vaughan. For those who remember the movie mini-series “Lonesome Dove”, you are sure to enjoy this as it is the same type of show only with the holiday spirit added to it.
In “Mistletoe Over Manhattan”, Mrs. Claus (played by Tedde Moore” tries to aid a young couple who plan to divorce in seeing and rediscovering their love for each other. The couple are portrayed by Tricia Helfer and Greg Bryk and do a wonderful job in this movie. This is sure to be a new family favorite.
Also, I am pleased to see that Hallmark is also airing ” A Walton’s Thanksgiving” and ” A Day of Thanks on Walton’s Mountain”. The Walton’s was always a good wholesome show in which families could sit and watch together and never have to worry about the words their children might hear or what they might see that could be controversial. This channel is the perfect place for those types of shows.
Hallmark Channel is pleased to announce that they will offer 14 new holiday movie premieres this holiday seaosn and they are inviting all of us to join them in watching these new movies. Each weekend night in November at 8 p.m. EST there will be a new holiday movie that viewers can watch and find a little of that holiday spirit.
