Let’s imagine, when this country was established by our forefathers, it was to bring hope, independence, freedom, and a sense of unity to prosper collectively. In truth however, the government and nation has fallen far from those ideologies and doctrines. This country has become encumbered by the continuous pilfering, deceptive antics, manipulative nature, and savage survival of men that will carry us to the brink of destruction.
From the moment the Europeans occupied this land and coerced Native Americans into submission there has been an urge to dominate our own brethren. There should be no surprise that our government could not maintain an unbiased and pure bipartisanship stance, especially when the 1% continues to scream for more. The manipulation of laissez-faire economic tactics transitions to economic distress as that same 1% take millions with no regard to their actions. They do so and ensure their protection by formulating bills, laws, and exploiting loop-holes for their own selfish gain. No justice has been administered due to the devious manner in which they pilfered millions.
They brainwashed our neighbors into believing they were safe with their mortgages, held stable health plans, and were secure in their future. As their actions came crashing down around the unsuspecting, the 1% disappeared, leaving broken and outraged citizens to Occupy Wall Street. The demonstration began on September 17, 2011 in New York and will know no end until a desirable outcome benefits the millions of citizens affected.
The many concerned individuals have gathered together to denote the declivity of the economy and protest about the lack of governing in a distressful time. Occupy Wall Street has gradually grown worldwide occupying Manhattan Liberty Square and reaching concerned London citizens. The demonstrations have spread like wild fire; attracting individuals who are witnessing the decline of the nation and their future. Students, teachers, organizations, community advocates – people – march for their destiny in over 1,500 cities globally1.
For those confused and discombobulated about the purpose of the movement, it is a reaction to the
rising level of incompetence and corruption that defiles our government. By using Arab spring tactics, protesters state they will no longer be the scapegoat or bailout option for wall street, especially when it leaves them barren and jobless. They do not strive for communism, nor do they strive for socialism, but deserve the right to own an American dream without it being stolen in a deceitful manner. We will continue to falter as a nation unless we take action and exercise our forefather’s intended doctrines and rights.
