Born as a spotless lamb,
In a lowly shepherd’s stall,
Came to us, the Great I Am,
The Mighty King of all.
Herod sought Thee with his might
To slay Thee while still small.
Escape was attained by night,
For God is over all.
Kings, conquerors un-contrite,
Have fought since Thy birth.
Blinded by the dark of night,
They eschew Thy worth.
Triumphant, Peace reigns on high
And earth her vows renew.
Let our songs penetrate the sky
While we rejoice in what is true.
