Sonnet to the Sea

I sit and watch the waves come into shore.

From where they start has been unknown to me.

They never stop; the waves grow more and more.

The waves keep rhythm going constantly.

The rhythm of the ocean calms my mind.

The wisdom of the sea soon you will hear.

The ocean can be beautiful and kind,

But in the same respect a place to fear.

A sailor knows the vengeance of the sea.

Calm water blue may soon be black with death.

The stillness could become catastrophe.

The water may become his final breath.

A love still grows within the heart of man

To tempt the fates and take a full command.
