Volunteer opportunity #1 in Spartanburg, SC: Mobile Meals of Spartanburg

Mobile meals of Spartanburg was founded on Oct. 3, 1977 and at present provides nutritious meals to approximately 2,000 frail and homebound residents with approximately 150 volunteers each weekday in Spartanburg County. Mobile Meals of Spartanburg is a 501-C3 independent non-profit organization depending only on contributions from businesses and individuals. Mobile Meals receives no government funding.

Mobile Meals mission is not only to provide food, but love, hope and compassion to people in need. They do this by also providing nursing services, case management, and a lay pastor.

In addition to volunteering as a meal delivery driver, there are other ways in which you can give your time at Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, such as clerical/office help, meal packaging, mail collating, caregivers, or helping with special events.

Volunteer opportunity #2 in Spartanburg, SC: Spartanburg County Public Libraries

The county public library is a worthy place to donate your time. It provides a myriad of (free) services to the community including providing books to Homebound patrons, summer reading programs for adults and children, special (free) events annually, exercise classes, computers onsite for public use (free), story times for kids, and many other opportunities for the community. In addition to all of the above, the Spartanburg County Public Libraries mission is to promote reading by offering patrons an immense selection of books, videos, DVDs, periodicals, newspapers and other reading materials.

There are many areas in the public library system where your volunteer services are needed! Such volunteer opportunities include, information desk help, tour guide, assisting with special events, deliver books to homebound patrons, adopt a shelf program, junior volunteers (5th grade-seniors summer break help), general clerical/office help, or volunteer in the library store.

Volunteer opportunity #3 in Spartanburg, SC: Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg

The mission of Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg is to build decent, affordable housing in collaboration with Spartanburg County families in need. Habitat for Humanity is a Christian-based ministry and they are always in need of volunteers! This organization has a need for Construction, Re-store, Committee, and Office volunteers!
