People say you should get 8. You can can by on 6 at 22. But continuously, only getting six may catch up with you eventually. Try and get 1 night a week at least where you sleep a bit longer.

How many hours of sleep per night do I need at age 15?
Q: Hi, I am a 15 year old teen (turning 16 in February), and I am wondering how many hours of sleep per night I require. I wake up during the week at 7.30 am to go to school. I often try to go to sleep around 10.30 or 11pm (22.30 – 23.00h) but there’s always something on my mind, maybe a song, maybe a friend or a comment he/she made during the day, nevertheless I generally can’t sleep till at least 11.30 or 12. I often wake up quite tired. I’m wondering how many hours am I required to sleep per night on an average, and could the fact that I can’t fall asleep before 11.30 – 12, be shown as evidence that I don’t need to sleep so much?I don’t know if you might need it, but just for the record I am a 15 year old male, weigh 63kg and I am 1.66m / 166cm tall.Thanks!PS. My doctor said that 7-8 hours a night is fine, but I want to ask more people.
A: Hmmm, for an average teenager you need 8 to 10 hours of sleep. And make sure you always go to bed tired, if you don’t do something to make you tired, read a boring book, watch a movie, drink some warm milk, anything you can think of!(:
Should I be rocking my two year old to sleep every night?
Q: I am stay at home mother of two. Our children are two and ten months. Our ten month old daughter goes to sleep at six thirty every night on her own. However, since our son(who is two years) was a baby, we have always rocked him to sleep. When he was about a year old, he started going to bed on his own, I would put glow in the dark toys in his bed and he would go to sleep. However one night about five months ago, he climbed out of his baby bed. It was set on the lowest setting, he is two and is thirty seven inches tall and weighs about fourty pounds. Was a week early and weighed nine and half and was 22 inches long. We bought him a toddler bed, put one side of the bed up against the wall and the evenflo rail on the other. My kids are my life, I want them to have a better childhood then I did and I show them alot of attention. well for about the past week he has been going to bed at about nine, an hour later than normal and for the past week I have been rocking him for two and a half …hours. He likes watchin tv in the living room while I hold him. I have been rocking him since eight o clock tonight and he is still awake. Sometimes I hold him so long until I get sore in my lower back. But he is my baby, and I want to be the best mother I can be. I have done the whole thing about putting him in the bed and if he gets up take him back in there. I will walk him in there a hundred times. But he still cries and says he wants momma. This breaks my heart. So, I continue to rock. Then about three in the morning, he gets in the bed with me and my husband, our son sometimes, will sleep so restlessly he will sleep vertically across me and my husbands head. And me and my husband are both sore in the morning! Can someone please tell me what to do? I want to be the best mom I can be and meet all of my children’s needs thanks for replies!
A: Try to break this in a gentle way, He feels threatened by the new baby. Show Him You still love Him too, and let Him help you take care of His little Sister. It will take a little time, but it will work out okay.
I need 12 hours of sleep every night!!??
Q: Im a 22 year old female and have needed 12 hours of sleep every night since I was 18 or 19. Even if I get 12 hours Im still tired. I obviously dont get 12 hours sleep because Im a mummy now and my baby doesnt let me sleep 12 hours at a time!! She does sleep through the night though, so I get a solid 7-8 hours sleep. But Im still exhausted everyday. Is this normal???
A: Different people need varying amounts of sleep, but 12 hours does strike me as being quite a lot and apparently it is possible to get too much sleep and feel tired because of that! So long as simple conditions such as anaemia and an under-active thyroid have been ruled out then I wouldn’t worry too much…just means you only have 12 hours a day to fit everything you have to do in to!
