Find out your current BMI, and what it should be. I’m guessing you’ve already done that, though.Best advice: Eat less, move more. Cutting off soda is an easy 10 pounds.Keep a calorie counter or diary. Make sure to include EVERYTHING you eat, even if you just have one bite.I understand, though, that if you go out to eat, you don’t know the calorie count of what you’re eating. Several websites offer calorie counting, and general weightloss advice. My favourite is the Daily Plate. You can plug what you ate, as well as your daily activities!Basically, though, you need to burn more calories than you consume.To lose 80 pounds in 6 months, that will be about 13 pounds in one month, about 3 pounds per week. Easy.However, there are things you need to know. Do NOT starve yourself. This will only shock your body, and your body may start to hoard all your calories, which will make you gain weight. Cool, huh?Now, that first twenty pounds is going to practically fall off. After that, it gets more difficult. So be ready for that.As for exercise, you probably won’t want to be building muscle. So my advice is, if you use free weights, use less weight, and do more reps. That will tone your muscles instead of build them.Something I found that works for me is an alternating schedule. I do cardio one day, then strength training the next, and I alternate like that. Keeps me from getting bored. Boredom will kill your routine, so change it up. A: 10 pounds per month is a really high goal. you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. start with a smaller goal of 1-2 pounds per week, that way it’s actually obtainable. Keep a log of how may calories and fat grams you are taking in a day. you should shoot for around 1200 calories a day. any less and your body will kick into starvation mode. also try to do 30 minutes of aerobics 3-4 times a week. only weigh yourself once a week and use the same scale every time. if you weigh yourself every day and keep a ridiculous goal of 10 pounds a month, you will become depressed and obsessed
