How does Adrenaline effect human behavior and the metabolism?
Q: How has the absence of Adrenaline affected the human race. For millions of years we have always lived under threat from our environment. Today most people have never known a true adrenaline rush as can be associated with the the scenario that would produce a Rebel YELL! What is Adrenaline and how does it affect our metabolism?
A: adrenaline can also be called epinephrineit not only helps us run (i think its sometime called the “Fight or Flight hormone”), but it helps in glycogen breakdown in the liver. This is a whole different story though, and its really boring and complicated. But its released from adrenal glands, blah blah, its a lot more boring than it seems. But to get some good epinephrine flowing, just do something exciting. like a bungy jump or something, thats sure to get it.
How long does it take for adrenaline to kick in when you fight?
Q: How long does it take to feel the adrenaline?
A: all answers are actually correct, the effect is almost instantaneous, whenever you are threatened or in a taxing situation your adrenal gland will kick in. however this does not mean you will notice it, many people do notice when it kicks in, many do not notice until afterwards, some don’t notice at all. what most people do notice is the ‘crash’ or feeling of exhaustion when it wears off.many people when experiencing it for the first time notice the tensing of their muscles and the increased energy. If you are fighting/training frequently you may not notice probably won’t notice, unless one of the effects it has on your body becomes evident, i.e. you do something which would be impossible for you under normal circumstances, like punch through a windsheild, lift several hundred pounds, run abnormally fast, etc. (and yes all these things have been known to happen). whether you notice it or not it still has the effect of making you much faster, stronger, and gives you more energy than you would normally have.
Where does adrenaline come from and how does it work?
Q: I need specific details on where adrenaline comes from, what it does, how it does it, and what it looks like when it is released and is travelling in the body.Any videos and info are awesome. Especially videos. Also, looking for info and videos on blood flowing in the body, hair growth, and brain activity.Thank you:)
A: Adrenalin is released from the adrenal glands above your kidneys. It overrides the normal control of blood sugar by inhibiting the secretion of the hormone insulin. This promotes the break down of glycogen stores to glucose. This means levels of glucose in the blood is higher than normal and gives the body lots of energy to use for a ‘flight or fight’ situation. More info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epinephrine. If you want videos try looking stuff up on youtube as there is sometimes science videos on there.
