is 10 minutes of cadio on a treadmill a day still good for weightloss?
Q: provided it is “split” into 5/4 sets of 10 minutes throughout the day? this is my self invented daily exercise plan (the times when i would do the treadmill cardio may not at the same times every day, but they will always be atleast 4). i have two exercise plans, that will depend on which i feel like doing that day, but everyday one of the two options must be done)Plan one: 4/5 10 minute sets of cardio throughout the day, it will be a mixture of fast walking, jogging and running, all would go for a whole minute. in the afternoon, around 5:00ish i will go for a walk (varying fields of intensity) two times around the block for 30 minutesthe calories burnt according to the treadmill are around 90 – 93, but i don’t know if its the actual calories my body has actually burnt in that time or if its just an estimation, still, i’d think 10 minutes of what i’d be doing wouldn’t be too far off 90.option two1.jog/run/fast walk if can’t go any longer, but no stopping around the block in the morning twice (like i would in the afternoon for 30 minutes, again, varying fields of intensity. 2. 2 sets of the treadmill runs, if time allows. 3. afternoon walk, same as in “option” one.according to my parents and the physiotherapist i’ve visited, my eating is fine, its just the exercise i now need to do, i just wanted to make sure if it will lose weight, i mean, i’ve lost a hell of a lot of weight since last year, but i just don’t wont to go putting in an effort that will get me nowhere. i also plan on changing little things in my lifestyle, like walking around the room or whatever during tv ad breaks, walking up stairs instead of escalators etc.its not 10 minute walks, its both walking (fast, jogging and running). but anyway out of the two plans i’ve got, what would be the best one?
A: It’s better than nothing. Try and get 2 or 3 of those 10 minute walks and walk as fast as you’re able to…being barely able to talk.
