Q: Has anyone visited Graceland (Elvis’s home)? Am planning a trip ad would appreciate any help. Also planning to visit Tupelo (where Elvis was born). Any other places in the area you would recommend and when is the best time to go? Recommended Airline, holiday company

A: Memphis is a great city, you will enjoy your trip. Okay Graceland does take a few hours to complete, there is more than just the house to see. There is also the planes, Elvis’s auto collection and more. We bought the VIP tour which was a lot of fun! It cost about $68 per a person, they do have another tour the Platinum tour which does a lot of the same stuff as the VIP and cost about $30 per a person. Be sure to check out the Graceland website for a breakdown of the tours:http://www.elvis.com/graceland/Be sure to get to Graceland early!!!! The best time to go is when they open. It is usually less crowded then and you do not spend a lot of time waiting for the house tour. Be sure to bring a lot of film, or make sure your memory card is not full you will take a ton of pictures! There is the Heatbreak Motel located on the grounds of the Elvis complex, but the bad thing is that it is not located near downtown and there is not much else to do around Graceland. You might want to look at staying near Beale Street such as the Peabody, or somewhere else downtown. Also be sure to check out Beale Street some of the best Jazz and Blues around! BB King’s place is always a lot of fun and they always have live music going on! Also the Memphis Redbirds are a AAA baseball team, very cheap tickets, and a nice stadium a great way to experience America’s past time. The park is kid friendly and they have some really good food and drink here! Located right by Beale in the heart of downtown.Be sure to contact the Memphis visitors center, they are very helpful in giving advice and suggestions for your travel.
