your son has had the chicken pox virus for the last 2 weeks which is the most infectious stage (before the spots appear), once they appear, blister and scab over your son is no longer infectious. It depends on when they dissappear, try not too let your boy scratch them as they will leave bad scars. Unfortunately there is no other real lotions or potions that can help, try keeping the calamine lotion in the fridge and dab onto spots with a damp cotton wool ball.hope he gets better soon 7-10 days for the blisters to crust over. It should disappear in a month. Calamine lotion soothes the skin and increases turnover of the dead skin, so crust should fall off sooner.
A rash appears on the skin on the first day of the disease. This is in the form of tiny red spots on the skin, mostly on the upper back or chest. In more severe cases, a rash may appear on the face and lower extremities. The papules turn into blisters and finally become pustules and form scabs, which fall off. They come in successive crops, so that while some are drying, others are beginning to form. The skin clears after a few days and the child feels well again. The duration of this disease ranges from ten to twenty-one days but is usually between fourteen and seventeen days. Remedy: Chicken Pox treatment using Brown VinegarThe use of brown vinegar is one of the most important among the several home remedies found beneficial in the treatment of chicken pox. Half a cup of this vinegar should be added to a bath of warm water. This will relieve the irritation of the skin. Chicken Pox treatment using Oatmeal:A bath of oatmeal is considered a natural remedy for relieving the itch due to chicken pox. This bath is prepared by cooking two cups of oatmeal in two liters of water for fifteen minutes. This mixture is then put into a cloth bag, preferably cotton, and a string is tied tightly around the top. This bag is allowed to float in a tub of warm water, and swished around until the water becomes turbid. Precaution should be taken to ensure that the bag is not torn. The child with chicken pox can splash and play in the water, making sure that water goes over all the scalds, while the pouch of oatmeal can remain in the tub . Chicken Pox treatment using Pea Water:Green pea water is another effective remedy for relieving irritation of the skin. The water in which fresh peas have been cooked can be used for this purpose. Chicken Pox treatment using Baking Soda:Baking soda is a popular remedy to control the itching in chicken pox. Some baking soda should be put in a glass of water. The child should be sponged with this water, so that the soda dries on the skin. This will keep the child away from scratching the eruptions. Chicken Pox treatment using Vitamin E Oil:The use of vitamin E oil is valuable in chicken pox. This oil should be rubbed on the skin. It will have a healing effect. The marks left by chicken pox will fade away by this application. Chicken Pox treatment using Honey:The use of honey as an external application has also proved valuable in chicken pox. The skin should be smeared with honey. It will help in the healing of the disease within three days. Couple of weeks normally.

Two to three weeks. Chicken Pox – Signs And SymptomsChicken pox is a highly contagious viral infection that usually lasts seven to 10 days. It’s spread by direct contact, or transmitted through the air, like when a person coughs or sneezes. It’s most commonly found in children aged five to nine years old, and occurs mostly in the late winter and early spring. Chicken pox causes an itchy red rash on the skin. The rash begins as small, red bumps that look like pimples! Eventually, these bumps turn into blisters, which will scab over. During the illness, you may feel sick and experience fever, headache, and/or stomach pains. If you have chicken pox, then you’ll have to miss a few days of school so that you don’t infect other kids.Chicken Pox – Ease the ItchChicken pox totally sucks because pimple-like bumps grow all over your face and body! Worse yet, these bumps are totally itchy. Scratching can cause the blisters to pop, leaving you with scars. So try following these tips – they’ll prevent you from going itch-crazy!Soak in a bath filled with baking soda or oatmeal. Apply calamine lotion to your skin to soothe the itchiness. Wear gloves to bed so you won’t scratch yourself while you sleep! And here’s the best news – you’ll suffer this itchy illness just one time cuz chicken pox usually occurs only once in your lifetime! Oatmeal bath works great, you can get it over the counter, I Aveno makes it. Some children may get only a few spots or clusters of spots, but others may develop hundreds of spots, coming in crops over the next 3-5 days. The spots usually change into blisters filled with clear fluid. When the fluid becomes cloudy, the blisters can break open and form crusts or scabs. The scabs can be very itchy, can make the child cranky, and may result in permanent scarring, especially if they are scratched. The rash can even spread inside the mouth or other body openings, making the childe even more uncomfortable.Usually, the child will start to feel better as the blisters begin to scab. But until all the pocks have crusted over, which can take 5-10 days, the child should not have contact with others who have not had chickenpox, so that the spread of the disease will be reduced to a minimum.During the course of any disease, inform your doctor of your child’s progress and report any additional discomfort or changes. i was 7 when i had mine, they lasted 7 days and then disappeared, but you’re not allowed to go back to school until the doctor has given the all clear, just make sure he doesn’t scratch them, it’ll make it worse, sorry can’t help anymore, i had mine 15 years ago so i can’t even remember what it was like although i do know how i got them in the first place! giving my 3yr old brother a good night kiss when he had them, worst mistake i ever made lol
