It doesn’t have to be that he has been with another person (even though we can’t be sure). Tric is caused by bacteria. If your man used his dirty fingers and inserted in your vagina or if his penis wasn’t clean when having sex with you, then I think you could get it that way.
NO the woman’s body can create it on it’s own.Do you wear thongs a lot? Did you have anal sex or was he anywhere near there? One common cause of trich is E Coli entering the vaginal area. I used to develop this condition about once a year.until I stopped wearing thongs!

Just for your info. and I’ve listed the sites for you to follow up if you wish.DefinitionTrichomoniasis refers to an infection of the genital and urinary tract. It is the most common sexually transmitted disease, affecting about 120 million women worldwide each year.Causes & symptomsBecause trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease, it occurs more often in individuals who have multiple sexual partners. The protozoan is passed to an individual by contact within the body fluids of an infected sexual partner. From MedtermsDefinition of TrichomonasTrichomonas: A single-celled protozoan parasite best known in medicine because one species causes vaginitis (vaginal inflammation). Infection with trichomonas (trichomoniasis) is the most common curable sexually transmitted disease (STD) in young sexually active women.) in young sexually active women. The species of trichomonas responsible for STD is Trichomonas vaginalis. The vagina is the most common site of infection in women, and the urethra (urine canal) is the most common site of infection in men. The parasite is sexually transmitted through penis-to-vagina intercourse or vulva-to-vulva (the genital area outside the vagina) contact with an infected partner. Women can acquire the disease from infected men or women, but men usually contract it only from infected women. Thats is just a couple of sites I found – I will add here that in my younger years I did have this form of STD – and one thing that my doctor did recommend is that both partners get treated as the man can keep re-infecting his partner. He sometimes does not know he has it because sometimes does not show the symptoms like we women do. So if your husband has not been treated you should maybe talk to your doctor about this.
Trichomonas vaginalis (TV) is caused by a tiny parasite found in the vagina and urethra (the tube where urine comes out).It is passed on through: vaginal sexfrom a mother to her baby at birthsharing sex toysYou can’t catch trichomonas vaginalis from kissing, hugging, sharing cups, plates or cutlery, or from toilet seats or swimming pools.Signs and symptomsUp to 50% of infected people show no symptoms, but symptoms can appear between three and 21 days after infection.Symptoms in women:increased discharge from the vagina, which may be thinner or frothy, change in colour and have a musty or fishy smellitching, soreness and inflammation in and around the vaginapain when passing urine or having sextenderness in the lower abdomenSymptoms in men:thin, whitish discharge from the tip of the penis, which can stain underwearpain or burning when passing urineMen especially tend to act as carriers and not show symptoms.Testing and treatmentTests shouldn’t be painful, but they may be uncomfortable. They may include:genital examination by a doctor or nursetaking a swab from the vagina or urethra and examining it under a microscopewomen may have an internal examinationurine testsTV is sometimes discovered during a routine cervical smear test.Treatment is simple and involves a single dose or course of antibiotics. Once successfully treated, TV doesn’t come back unless a new infection is acquired. To avoid re-infection, any sexual partners must also be treated. Unprotected vaginal sex should be avoided until treatment is completed and the infection has cleared up. A check-up is advised after treatment to make sure the infection has gone. How to avoid STIsBefore you have sex, talk to your partner about how to protect yourselves. A male or female condom can provide protection from most STIs if used correctly every time you have sex. Become familiar with how to use condoms and have a supply ready. Seek advice straight away if you think you’ve been at risk.
A good source for this question is
Trichomoniasis is spread through sexual contact, as all other STD’s. Transmission can occur even if a person does not have symptoms of infection. Women contract trichomoniasis from infected male or female partners while men usually contract it only from female partners. Using condoms and/or dental dams provide some protection. Their use is strongly encouraged, but is not 100% safe. Trichomoniasis can also survive on infected objects like sheets, towels, and underwear and could be transmitted by sharing them. Please see the webpages for more details on Trichomoniasis.
No you can get it other ways too. There was a big outbreak of it where I live a few years ago and it was discovered that it was comming from a popular swimming place that summer. Another way of getting it comes from using something that has come into contact with an infected person, like a washcloth. I also believe that this is one that can be picked up from toilet seats as well. So just because your boyfriend/husband has it doesn’t mean that he is cheating.
