i have eczema, and if it is serious u should take him to a dermatologist for more effective creams, a steriod based cream usually works for me and since he is younger you should try elidel, which is also perscription only
Sounds like you’ve tryed all the over the counter products and should seek md for rx. I know mine is worse with hot baths. Barely warm showers seem to help it get better than hot baths. Also mine is worse when I bath in city water because of the chlorine. Good luck we all hate to see little ones suffer but the doctor does have other perscription options and in most cases insurance will pay for treatment.
Don’t use the hydrocortisone cream too often. It will make his skin thin and stunt his growth. My son has Atopic Dermatitis as well.
THE DRS HAVE GOOD PERSCRIPTIONS, YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL BECAUSE HE CAN HAVE SCARING DONE
Is he under a doctor’s care? If not, get him some professional help.
Why don’t you try Chinese herbal medicine or herbal medicine. Most commercial creams and products for eczema do not work effectively. Although you need to make sure that the practitioner is licensed for safety.
have you tried Eucerin Lotion? sometimes that helps mine.
I have eczema..My condition is undetectable to anyone but me. It hasn’t always been that way. My eczema used to itch and look like crocodile skin..this is my treatment regime.1 Bath once a day only. Use a bath oil in the water and wash with an oatmeal and honey soap. I use Yardley. Use a loofah to gently exfoliate the eczema.2. After the bath I apply SALEX cream (by prescription only)Salex removes the dead skin and evens the skin tone.3. Twice a day apply a corticosteroid Triamcinolone .1%. ((by prescription only) It’s the most effective treatment for eczema.
My goddaughter had this problem and the doc suggested wet pajamas topped with dry pajamas to sleep in to make the skin moist at night and stop the itching. You can try it.
