Why do people insist on telling me smoking takes away 10years of my life?

Because there are some people who just can’t help poking their noses into other people’s business. It gives them something to do and they probably have a nice warm self-righteous feeling afterwards. Ooooh don’t get me started! Take, for instance, the idiot who I’d never seen in my life before, who banged on my front door the other night at 10pm to demand from me an explanation as to why I hadn’t cut my hedge. I told him “because it’s 10 o’clock at night and the hedge clipping noise might annoy the neighbours” and shut the door in his stupid face. It didn’t seem to satisfy him though. There’s no pleasing some people. You just have to learn to live with it. The stress of their nosy-parkering will, I suspect, take more than 10 years off THEIR lives. Either than or they will find themselves shuffling off their mortal coil at the end of a baseball bat.
