Going on that first date as a teen is a momentous occasion. It’s all about learning how to deal with others and find ways to meet up together and have fun without spending a lot of money. There are a great variety of ways to do this and with a little creativity and pre planning your first date will be lots of fun without spending a lot of money.
Take a walk
You don’t have to spend any money to take a walk. Find a nice area and go for a walk together. Take along a bottle of water and just have a nice afternoon.
Rent some movies
Get together with a group of friends and rent a movie. Don’t forget the popcorn.
Miniature golf
Find a nearby miniature golf course and go putt a few rounds of miniature golf. Check the prices on several places before deciding which one to go to so that you’ll get the most for your money.
Bowling
Call a few bowling alleys and ask about pricing. Gather together a group of friends and split the cost to rent a lane for an hour.
Have a baking contest
Get two groups of teens together and have a baking contest. The contest can be at two different homes or at one home but each team is responsible to make a batch of cookies, a cake or a similar item. Then get together and have a taste contest (blindfolded of course) and see which recipe tastes better.
Fly a kite
If it’s a windy day flying a kite could be a lot of fun. If this is a group date consider bringing several kites and seeing which team can get theirs the highest.
Have a picnic
Pack a picnic breakfast, lunch or dinner and go find a great picnic spot. Local parks, beaches or even your own backyard are all great for this one.
Work on a volunteer project together
Find a volunteer project and work on it together. It could be a local community project, children’s theater, children’s center or some other such project just do it together and enjoy the time you’re spending together.
Go for a bike ride
Similar to a walk, take a bike ride. Plan the day accordingly and consider taking a picnic lunch along. Whether you ride a few blocks or a few miles this one is sure to be a hit and it’s nearly free as long as you bring your own picnic.
Go on a hike
Go for a hike on a local hiking trail. Hikes are a great way to get in some exercise and get to know one another. Inexpensive and fun this ones sure to please.
Dates don’t have to cost a lot of money to be fun, in fact, the most memorable dates are those that cost the least. Brainstorm with your friends and find more inexpensive ideas for inexpensive dates.
