Tuesday, September 5, 1882 marks the first time that Labor Day was ever celebrated. At the time, the event took place only in New York City. Labor Day, now celebrated the first Monday of every September, is now a national holiday that celebrates the social and economic advancements of American workers. The Woodlands, Texas is no exception. The family-friendly community will be hosting Labor Day Live on Labor Day weekend.
Labor Day Live is a two-day event to take place Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Each night will feature two different bands. There is a little something for everyone at this event.
Saturday, September 3 will feature Little Queen Band, from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Cold Shot from 7:35 PM – 9:00 PM. Each band plays a variety of pop and dance music.
Sunday, September 4 offers a different feel, featuring Nigel Edison Band from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, an acoustic, easy-listening band. Then Fidelity Maxx, a funk band, performs from 7:35 PM – 9:00 PM to finish out the event.
The bands playing are family-friendly, and children have not been forgotten during this time. Balloon artists and face painters will be available to help keep children entertained each night. The water wall and fountains that light up and jet up to 75 feet into the air are also sure to delight young and old alike as they dance to the music.
