Back to Dorm: Healthy Dorm Snack Essentials

You’ve had your fun. Bonfires, beach days, and long summer nights. Now its time to head back up to campus for another year of drinking in the fountain of knowledge (both literally and figuratively, of course). It’s all fun and games until tests, papers, and pounds start to pile up. We’ve come up with healthy snack foods that will keep you up without weighing you down.

1. Mousse Temptations by JELL-O

These snack packs are so good you would have no idea that they were only sixty calories (well, unless you read the package before hand). With flavors like Caramel Creme, Dark Chocolate Decadence, and Chocolate Indulgence they will totally handle your junk food craving without breaking your calorie bank. Cha-ching!

2. Luna Bars

Luna Bars are vitamin and mineral packed organic snack bars that will get you through an all-nighter way better than any bag of Doritos ever would. Gluten free? No problem. Many of the LUNA Protein flavors, like Chocolate Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate Chip are now gluten free.

3. Florida’s Natural Fruit Juice Nuggets

The fruit juice nuggets are perfect for the college student who doesn’t walk within five feet of the salad bar. Packed with 100% Vitamin C and made with real fruits and fruit juices you will get more nourishment out of them than you did at dinner when you sampled every pie the pizza station had to offer.

4. Planters Almonds

Next time you’re at the library vending machine go with your head instead of your heart by choosing the almonds instead of the Peanut M&Ms. Your metabolism will thank you later.

5. Minute Whole Grain Brown Rice Microwavable Cups

If its after 10PM, put the Chinese delivery number down and whip up a healthier, more cost efficient snack in your common room microwave. Before the commercial break is half way over your one-minute mini rice bowl will be ready to be served. Want some extra flavor? Try adding La Choy Lite Soy Sauce.

With these snack foods handy you definitely won’t be gaining the freshmen fifteen or senior fifteen this year. Hallelujiah!
