The brother – sister robbers the police named the “Dougherty Family”, took police officer Kevin Widner on a 5 mile car chase and shoot out through Florida, before ending up in Georgia 200 miles and 5 hours later to do a bank robbery. The 3 siblings part of the brother-sister robbery team are Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21, sister Lee Grace E. Dougherty, 29, and half-brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26. On August 2nd, Widner caught them speeding down state road 54 in a 2007 white Subaru Impreza and recorded everything on his dashcam. Police say the sibling bank robbers left more than 20 bullet casings behind them in the chase. See video of the car chase here.
After losing Widner in the chase, the three headed to Georgia where they robbed a Certus Bank with a AK-47 in the same day. The FBI said all three dougherty siblings dressed in black with masks, fired shots and told everybody in the bank to get down. Two were armed while the 3rd one took the cash. All 3 Dougherty siblings part of the brother- sister robbery team have past police records starting with the sister (photo), Lee Doughtery’s 5 felony charges of hit and runs in Cocoa Beach, Florida, plus 6 misdemeanors. Dylan Dougherty has a small weed charge and the FBI is looking to get a warrant on Ryan Dougherty for not registering as a sex offender in Florida. The FBI has put up digital billboards all across the southeast trying to catch the 3 siblings part of the brother-sister robbery clique.
