Holland America Lines will provide a wide range of youth- or -child-oriented activities which are generally safe, age-appropriate and engaging. Holland America Lines will require that all Youth Staff will hold a degree in leisure studies, childhood development, education or recreations as well as in other similar fields. With “Loft and The Oasis” for teenagers of 13 to 17 years old, “Club HAL-Tweens” for children of 8 to 12 years old or “Club HAL’ for children of 3 to 7 years old, there is a program which will most certainly suit the needs of your family. Holland America Lines will provide a fun Culinary Arts Center Program as well, which will be focused on 2 age groups: three to seven years old, and from eight years old above. Teens of over 15 years old will be able to participate in the adult classes as well. Holland America Lines will employ Youth Staff as well, specially trained to work with kids who have special needs. Be certain to let Holland America Lines be aware you will need this type of services when you will make the reservation.
Club HAL
This program was designed for children of three to seven years old, and will feature various fun activities like fabric painting, bingo, storytelling, pizza, ice cream parties or treasure hunts. Kids must be toilet-trained so they can participate to this program. Health mandates will not allow kids in diapers and pull-ups to participate in the youth facilities spaces.
Club HAL – Tweens
Tweens, with age between eight and twelve years old, will be able to enjoy theme parties, participate in the Alaska cruises tours or National Park Service Junior Ranges Program, disco or putt-putt golf. They will be able to compete in on board sporting competitions, play games with their friends or scavenger hunts as well.
The Loft & The Oasis
This program has been designed for teenagers of thirteen to seventeen years old, and will include video games, karaoke, sports tournaments or disco sessions. There are trivia games, bingo, card games or movies available as well, and if there are over 99 children on board, Holland America Lines will offer the Talent Show exclusively for them. However, you should check this when booking your reservation to ensure availability; The Oasis will not be available on all Vista class vessels.
HAL Kids and Teens Culinary Arts Center Program
With small class size of fifteen or fewer, as well as menus which will range from simple to gourmet, the Culinary Arts Center Program from Holland America Lines will give children real chance of discovering the real joy of cooking. Not only do children learn all the basic of cooking, kitchen safety, or just how to follow a recipe, but they will learn how to use those numbers of measuring as well, and maintain a safe kitchen.
Kids Menus
Holland America Lines will provide a wide range of foods which will be designed just for children` finicky palates, including: tacos, pizza, hot dogs or hamburgers. Upon making the reservations, please let Holland America Lines know if you will require a high chair or booster seat.
