My Opinion on Gary Johnson for President

Gary Johnson is a widower, a father, and a grandfather. He was in the middle of a separation with his wife before her death. He does not use all recreational drug use, caffeine, alcohol, and some sugar products. He is and extensive athelete. He was governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003.

I found a lot of information about him through the wikipedia and on the web.

He believes the United States is on the verge of an economic collapse that he compares to the 1998 Russian financial crisis. Johnson did not support the Troubled Asset Relief Program, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010, or any other bailout or stimulus bills. He also opposes President Barack Obama’s proposed American Jobs Act. Johnson opposes earmarks, and would veto any bills containing them. An earmark is a legislative provision that directs approved funds to be spent on specific projects, or that directs specific exemptions from taxes or mandated fees. He believes Social security is valuable and fixable without raising taxes. I understand during the time he had been Governor of New Mexico there weren’t any tax increases.

He wants to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, supports gay unions, supports those that wish to have abortions, and favors legalizing marijuana. He is against bigotry and hate in any form. He will fight for peoples right even to bare arms. He believes that crime is reduced when law-abiding citizens are allowed to carry guns and that kids would get a better education if their families had a choice of schools.

You can down him if you want on his views of legalizing marijuana, but we had the same problem with the prohibition of alcohol reform movement sponsored by evangelical Protestant churches, the Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Disciples and Congregationalists from the 1840s into the 1920s. It didn’t work then and prohibition of anything isn’t going to work now. Instead we ended up regulating the use of alcohol which worked much better…not great, but much better…this is what we need to do with marijuana as well and other stuff like it. I hate drug usage myself because it makes people act stupid, but so does alcohol usage… If we don’t attack the problem from a new angle just like we did alcohol then we are never going to win this war. In regulating its usage instead of prohibiting it just like we did alcohol we end up generating enormous sums of much needed tax revenue, and weaken the base of organized crime. The Repeal of The Prohibition of Alcohol came about on December 5, 1933 which allowed states and the people themselves to set their own laws for the control of alcohol. This is what Johnson wants to see happen with marijuana usage….in the end this ammendment could save lives, help bring us closer to a way out of this recession that we are now in.

I’m against abortion. I don’t like drug usage, but I would vote for Gary Johnson without a second thought.
