Beginnings of Fall

I wake to a cool breeze,

Need socks for my feet.

The coffee aroma fills every room.

Outside is my favorite seat.

The cardinals and blue jays eat from the feeder;

As gold and red leaves decorate the ground,

Squirrels gather pecans ripe on the tree.

Geese and ducks are southern bound.

Fresh baked cinnamon rolls,

Sweet and creamy,

Begins a new day

Sure to be dreamy.

For the fall brings with it

Family gatherings and baking;

And everyone’s anxious for the pies I’ll be making.
