Everybody is looking for the best deal on laptops (or whatever’s on the Christmas list) to be had on Black Friday, so the strategy generally is to hit the Internet and save all the circulars, then figure out which sales to attend and hopefully make a purchase (because many Black Friday sales come with limitations on the in stock items — what is commonly called a teaser to get you in the door). Some websites are very helpful in this area, having already done the sales research for the consumer and compiling the best deals in an easy-to-access list.
MSNBC put together a list of Black Friday deals on “Technolog,” including those involving laptop and desktop computers. There are other sites as well, like Gizmodo, which has lists for all types of electronic gadgets (and not only do they have a Black Friday Cheat Sheet, but they compile a daily list of deals for the searching gadget consumer). Another place to find a compilation of good deals is at Lifehacker.
Finding the right laptop is usually an individualistic exercise, so the abridged listing below might not fit specific needs. If not, the afoementioned sites and websites that cater to price comparisons are recommended.
Some of the best deals on laptops can be found at:
Best Buy: 10.1-in. Gateway LT2811U netbook (1.66MHz/1GB RAM/250GB HDD) for $149 (Normally $450)
Best Buy: 15.6″ Lenovo G575-438343U AMD Dual-Core E-300 2GB DDR3 250GB HDD Laptop for $180 (Normally $449.99)
WalMart: 15.6-in. HP 2000-329WM laptop (1.60GHz/3GB RAM/320 GB HDD) for $248 (Normally $400)

RadioShack: 15.6″ Toshiba AMD E300 Dual-Core Processor 3GB DDR3 500GB HDD Laptop for $299 (Normally $469)
Remember to double-check Black Friday sales prices and availability with respective retailers. Although some have a price match guarantee, such as WalMart, they generally do not honor Internet ads and sales prices that are the result of typos and misprints.
